THIS INDENTURE made the 2d. day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety Between ANDREW SHEPHERD and ELIZABETH his Wife of ORANGE County of one part and BARNETT WATTS of County of Culpeper of other part; Witnesseth that ANDREW SHEPHERD &ELIZ ABETH his Wife in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds current money in hand paid by these presents doth bargain sell and confirm unto BARNETT WAITS his heirs one certain tract of land lying in Culpeper County in the ROBINSON FORK containing by estimation one hundred and eighty three acres be the same more or less which tract of land said ANDREW SHEPHERD purchased of THOMAS WATTS and is bounded by BLAND BALLARD's line, JAMES BARBOUR's line, DIXON's line and SARAH GAINES's line, which tract of land and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging; To have and to hold unto BARNETT WAITS his heirs and ANDREW SHEPHERD and ELIZABETH his Wife for themselves their heirs do warrant and forever defend the one hundred & eighty three acres of land with every advantage belonging to BARNET WATTS his heirs against the law-full claim of any person; In Witness whereof the said ANDREW SHEPHERD & ELIZABETH his Wife have hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals the day & year first above written
