weak in body, dated 29 Feb. 1772.
To my mother Fanny Chiles one Negro girl Fan and hereafter to whom my dear mother pleases.

25 Feb. 1773. Proved by Barnet Dickerson and Henry Tandy. Fanny Chiles is granted administration with the will annexed. She with Samuel Newton her security acknowledged bond in the sum of £200.

Will of Malachi Chiles of Orange County and Parish of St. Thomas, being very weak and low, dated 31 May
1769.
To my daughter Betty Jennings one negro boy James, one Negro girl Phillis, also a feather bed and four sheep which I have already delivered.
To my daughter Anna a Negro girl Fann daughter to a Negr. wench Moll.
To my son Henry a Negro boy Harry which has been delivered. Also 45 acres whereon he now lives. When my son Henry takes his 45 acres the residue of the land joyning upon Atkins, Brockman, Burrus and Stevens be sold to discharge debts.
To my son John a Negro boy Jacob.
To my daughter Mary a Negro girl Esther.
To my daughter Frankey a Negro girl Judy, also a bed, which has been delivered.
To my son Malachi a Negro boy Garland.
To my daughter Agness a Negro girl Bridget.
To my son William a Negro boy Jack.
To my son Thomas a Negro boy Lewis.
To my son James a Negro boy Jesse.
To my daughter Susanna a Negro girl Winney.
My sons which are under eighteen years shall not enjoy their Negroes till they arrive to twenty one years. My daughters shall not possess their Negroes till they come of age or marry.
To my wife Frances Chiles my tract of land which I have not already mentioned and the Negroes which I have not already disposed of to my children, during her life. Also my personal estate. At my wife's decease the land and moveable estate be sold and equally divided among my children (my daughters Betty Jennings and Frankey Mickey excepted).
My loving wife Frances Chiles, Henry Chiles and Robert Jennings executors.

Wit: Andrew Manning, John Stevens, John Brockman, Joseph Woolfolk.
22 Feb. 1770. Produced into Court by Frances Chiles and Robert Jennings. Proved by John Stevens and John Brockman. Henry Chiles, heir at law to Malachi Chiles, came into Court and said he had no objections to the proof of the said will. Executors with John Stevens and John Long their securities entered into bond in the sum of £3000.
