THIS INDENTURE made this Second day of May 1687 Between Mr. WILLIAM LOYALL of ye Parrish of Christ Church in ye County of Middlesex in Virginia Planter & MARY his Wife of one part and Mr. HUGH WATTS of ye County aforesd planter Witnesseth that sd William Loyall & Mary his Wife for ye full quantity of two thousand five hundred pounds of good & merchantable sweet sented Tobbo. in Caske to them paid by sd Hugh Watts doe by these presents grant unto the said Hugh Watts his heires Eighty acres of land in ye Countie aforesaid by ye edge or side of ye Dragon Swamp Runn, and thence running down ye Dragon Swamp Runn it several courses & turning unto another Branch to ye land of THOMAS STACEY thence up allongst sd branch its severall courses to ye sd WILLM LOYALLE head line & thence ye sd line until it meete with ye runn of ye first mentioned branch lastly down ye sd Branch Runn unto ye Dragon Run the place it first began

Then came into Court William Loyal and acknowledged the within Deed to bee his act & deed MARY LOYALL alsoe came into Court and being privately examined acknowledged the within deed to be her act and deed
KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I HUGH WATTS of Middlesex Countie haveing bought of William Loyal a parcell of land expreset in a Certaine Deed of Sale dated with these presents and I agree with Ye sd William Loyal (as followeth) That I doe acknowledge ourselves to he satisfied with onely his Right of a certain Island within ye Dragon Swamp; which Island is within the boundes of salle & that ye said Willm Loyal! shall not come to any trouble by ye claime of any person that shall have any claime to ye sd Island but ye sd Sale to stand in full power as Wittness this Second day of May 1687
