      Will of LILLY JOHN STEPHENS.
      I LILLY JOHN STEPHENS of Washington Parish in County of Westmoreland being very sick, give and bequeath all my estate to be equally divided between my three daughters KATY STEPHENS, ANKY STEPHENS and ELIZABETH STEPHENS ... that JAMES STEPHENS son of SARAH STEPHENS have one years schooling paid out of my estate .. that my beloved wife MARY ANN STEPHENS have the use and profits of my whole estate .. appoint my loving wife MARY ANN STEPHENS Executrix and my Friend WOOFENDALE KINDALL Executor this 16th February 1778.

      IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen. the Twenty second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty seven eight, I SAML. KENDAL in Westmorland County being very sick and weak but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God, and calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortal life and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say, Principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God tha gave it and my body to the Earth to be buryed in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form;
      Imprimis. I give and bequeath to my Eldest Daughter, SARAH, five shillgs. currency.
      Item. I give to my Daughter, ANN, five shillgs. curry.,
      Item. I give to my Daughter, MARTHA, five shillings curry.
      Item. I give to my Daughter, MARY, forty shillings curry.
      All the rest of my Estate, I give to my Wife, SARAH KENDAL, during her life and after her decease, then all the rest of my Estate I give to be equally divided between my four Children, namely, GLADISS KENDAL. MOSES KENDAL, WM. KENDAL & ELIZA: KENDAL, Furthermore, I constitute make and ordain my Cousin, JOHN KENDAL, & JOHN MACORMICK full and sold Executors of this my Last Will and Testament, and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all former Wills, Testamts. Legacies bequests and Exors. by me in any ways before this time named Willed or bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written

      Westmorland Sct. At a Court held for the sd. County the 31st day of July Anno Dom: 1750 This Last Will and Testament of SAML. KENDAL, deced., was preooxitod into Court by SARAH, bis Relict, and proved by the Oaths of JOHN BALEY & AARON HARDWICH, two of the witnesses thereto, is ordered to be recorded; (& for that the Exors. therein named having refused the burthern of the Exorship) then on mocon of the sd. SARAH, Certificate is granted her for obtaining Letters of Admcon. wth: the sd. Will annex'd in due form
