THIS INDENTURE made the 20th and 21st day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty one Between SAMUEL THOMPSON of the County of HANOVER of one part and SAMUEL ALLEN of the County of Essex and Parrish of South farnham of other part Witnesseth that the said SAMUEL THOMPSON for sum of Eighty pounds Currt. money of Virginia doth sell unto sd SAMUEL ALLEN and to his heirs and assigns a certain tract of land being in the aforesaid Parrish of Southfarnham and County of Essex containing Two hundred acres hounded Begining upon the Percoason at the Mouth of a Branch being the SPRING BRANCH belonging to the sd Parcel of land and up the said Branch to a small red oak standing on a hill side from thence crossing the ROAD along the dividing line between COX and the said THOMPSON to a small red oak being a Corner Tree between WILLIAM COX and the said THOMPSON from thence along the dividing line between the said COX and the sd THOMPSON to a Pine tree standing on the head of BURNETTS SPRING BRANCH and down the sd Branch to the dividing line between HARWOOD and the sd THOMPSON and sd HARWOOD to the percoason a little above a BEAVER DAMM from thence down the percoason run to the mouth of the said SPRING BRANCH where it began and all the Estate right of him the sd SAMUEL THOMPSON or ELIZABETH his Wife all which premises are in the actual possession of him the said SAMUEL ALLEN by virtue of Indenture for one year and of the Statute for transferring uses into possession and Lastly that he the sd SAMUEL THOMSON and ELIZABETH his Wife will at any time execute all reasonable assurances for conveying of the Land. KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I SAMUEL THOMPSON of Southwark Parish in the County of SURRY do nominate & appoint in my stead & place my well beloved Friend, AUGUSTINE BOUGHAN, of ST. ANNs Parrish in Essex County my true and lawfull Atturney to demand & receive for me every sums of moneys that is now or shall hereafter become due to me whether the same be due for Rents or other things & any crops of Corn & Tobacco to devide with any Overseer that shall be hereafter & the same to deliver to whome I shall order it to, I say I do ordain the said AUGUSTINE BOUGHAN my true and lawfull Atturney within the County of Essex giving my said Auurney my full power and authority in ye premises for me and in my name & upon receipt of soms of money rents or crops or other things discharge in my name to make hereby ratifying and allowing whatsoever my Atturney shall do; In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & affixt. my seal this Fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred forty & five

April 1745 AUGUSTINE BOUGHAN presented this Power of Attorney from SAMUEL THOMPSON which was read and duely proved by the oaths of all the witnesses thereto and upon the same was ordered to be recorded and is truely recorded
