      THIS INDENTUREmade the Twenth day of September 1736 Between JOHN HAMPTON of the Parish of St. Ann in the County of Essex of the one part and JOSEPH SORRELL of the same Carpenter Witnesseth that John Hampton for sum of Fourty pounds Current money of Virginia doth confirm unto the said Joseph Sorell in his actual possession now being of the parcell of land by virtue Bargain and Sale bearing date the day next before and of the Statute of transferring uses into possession and to his heirs all that paracell of land Swamps and Marsh containing Ninety Six acres of a tract of land formerly belonging to ROBERT KING of ye County aforesd but now of SPOTELVENA County the said Ninety Six acres is bounded on the branches of Occapatia on the South side of the main Swamp beginning at a corner red oake of JOHN COLQUITs standing in BRYAN WARDs line thence along the said Bryan Wards line West North West to a Corner red oak of JOHN MORRISSes in the aforesd line thence along John Morrisses South to a Corner Spanish oak of John Morrises standing on the North side of a Great Branch, thence down the said branch North East to a corner Maple in the fork between two branches thence up the Eastern branch South to a marked Ash and Gum Corner tree of John Colquits standing on the branch, thence North to the beginning place the said land being part of a tract of Five hundred and sixty seven acres granted to NICHOLAS COPELAND and JAMES ANDREWES by Pattent dated the 29th day of September 1674 .
