1743-1747 Essex County, Virginia Will Book 7; [The Virginia Genealogist-John Frederick Dorman]; Page 76-78. Will of Henry Baker Senr. of Essex County in Southfarnham Parish, dated 18 Oct. 1743.
To my son John Baker 25 acres of land to him and his heirs and each of them one shilling sterling. My son John Baker's part of my land shall be bounded between Thos. Coleman's line and Joseph Mann's line.
To my son Henry Baker 150 acres lying on the south side of the Dragon Swamp. If he should dye without heir or make sale of his part of the land then his past to return to my two daughters Jane Baker and Christian Baker to be equally divided between them.
To my two daughters Jane Baker and Christian Baker my land on the north side of Dragon Swamp which is 175 acres. That part on which my dwelling house stands to my daughter Jane Baker, but in case she should dye without heir then her part to my daughter Christian Baker.
To my daughter Christian Baker my land in the fork neck to Mr. John Allin's line but in case she should dye without heir to return to my daughter Jane Baker.
If my two daughters should have no issue, I give the surviving sister liberty to dispose of their parts as she shall think fit, excepting to Frances Brown Senr's family.
To my daughter Eliza. Brown one shilling sterling. My two daughters Jane Baker and Christian Baker executrix.

KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I HENRY BAKER of the County of Essex and Parish of SOUTHFARNHAM for the summ of Eleven pounds currant money due from me to my two Daughters, JANE and CHRISTIAN BAKER, for wages upon and before the ensealing and delivering of these presents for which said Service done to me by my said two Daughters, JANE and CHRISTIAN BAKER, I acknowledge my self fully satisfied contented and paid, have bargained & sold and by these presents do fully clearly and absolutely bargain and sell unto my two said Daughters, JANE and CHRISTIAN BAKER, two cows and calves and their increase, two sows and their increase, my two beds and bed cloaths belonging to them, two small Chests and one large Chest; 1 Iron pestle and three Iron Wedges, my Weaving Loom and materials belonging to it, two brass candlesticks, one pair of Stilyards, one pair of money scales, one Hackney Saddle, two Iron potts, one broad axe, one handsaw, four pewter dishes and the rest of my pewter and my Table; one large looking glass, and a powder box and Bible, frying pan; To have and to hold the aforesaid Goods and Chattles to my said Daughters, JANE and CHRISTIAN BAKER, their heirs Executors Administrators and assigns to their own proper use to do and dispose thereof at their will and pleasure; And further I the said HENRY BAKER for my self my Executors and Administrators doth covenant with my said two Daughters that I the goods and chattles before bargained and sold and every of them unto my said two Daughters against all persons whatsoever will warrant and for ever defend by these presents; In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 27th day of October 1743

1743 This Deed of bargain and sale from HENRY BAKER to his Daughters, JANE BAKER
and CHRISTIAN BAKER was proved by the oath of THOMAS BARKER and WILLIAM CROW
which is admitted to Record and is truely recorded
