  === 1744-1778 Orange County, Virginia Will Book 2: [John Frederick Dorman]: Pages 223-26. Will of John Brockman of St. Thomas's Parish in Orange County in Virginia, being very unhealthy, dated 8 Aug. 1755. Unto my well beloved wife Mary Brockman during her widowhood 150 acres whereon I live. Likewise one large looking glass. Unto my well beloved son Samuel Brockman 100 acres in Louisa County joining Major John Stark's line, being part of a tract which I purchased of Philip Elliott. If the child my wife Mary Brockman is now with child with should be a boy, I give the remainder part of the said tract to him, but if it should not be a boy, that part of the land should be sold to the highest bidder. To my son Samuel Brockman all by blacksmith's tools, upon proviso he dos what smiths work his mother shall have need of while she remains a widow. To my well beloved son John Brockman 100 acres in Orange County which I purchased of Thomas Cook. To my well beloved son William Brockman 200 acres in Orange County which I purchased of William Oaks. To my well beloved son Joseph Brockman the sand 150 acres where I now live after my wife's decease or if she should alter her life by marriage. To my well beloved daughter Susan Atkins one feather bed and one pair of sheets. To my well beloved daughter Sarah Brockman one feather bed and one pair of sheets, at age of eighteen of at the day of marriage. To my well beloved daughter Elizabeth Brockman one feather bed and one pair of sheets at the age of eighteen or at the day of marriage. To my well beloved daughter Hannah Brockman one feather bed and one pair of sheets at the age of eighteen or at the day of marriage. To my well beloved daughter Mary Brockman one feather bed and one pair of sheets at the age of eighteen or at the day of marriage.
