Will of John Griffin of St. Thomas's Parish in the County of Orange in Virga. being very sick and weak in body, dated 2 Dec. 1743. I impower my executors to sell all my lands lying near Terry's Run in the aforesaid county for the best price that can be had in money and the said money to be equally divided amongst my five youngest sons (to wit) John, Richard, James, Anthony and Joseph, each to receive his part when he arrives to the age of twenty one years. Unto my loving wife Margaret Griffin all the rest of my estate during her natural life and at her decease to be equally divided amongst all my children (viz) David, William, Mary, Katherin, Sarah, John, Richard, James, Anthony, Margaret and Joseph.
