      Indenture 28 Sept 1764 between ROBERT HILL, Orange County, and JAMES CLARKE of same .. whereas Robert Hill from James Clarke borrowed the sum of £40 .. for securing that payment Robert Hill doth sell several Negroes following .. upon condition that if should duly pay with lawful interest .. sale to be void .

      1765-1769 Culpeper County, Virginia Deed Book E (Part 2); [John Frederick Dorman]; Page 527. 27 July 1768. Robert Hill of Culpeper County to Dr. Thomas Houison of same. For £200 current money. Seven Negroes slaves: woman named Rose and her six children, Lucey, Winney, Jamey, Peter, Daniel. Also the lott of land on which I now live being leased land. Also my whole stock of horses being four and stock of cattle being ten in number, and stock of hoggs being twenty six in number, with a barren cow delivered to Dr. Thomas Houison last fall, and also eight sheep and household furniture.

      1766-1771 Spotsylvania County, Virginia Deed Book G; [William Armstrong Crozier];
      June 2, 1770. Thomas Minor of Spts. Co. and Mary, his wife, to Robert Hill of King and Queen Co.. Whereas, Benja. Temple of King Wm. Co. sold to Thomas Minor 250 a. in Spts. Co. for £162 10s. curr. (same being part of a tract devised sd. Benja. Temple by the will of his father, Jos. Temple, Decd., etc.), and did make and execute a deed to the sd. Minor, Dec. 7, 1763, by which the sd. land was described as within certain bounds, and from a recent survey was found to include 56 a. above the sd. 250 purchased by the sd. Minor; and whereas the sd. Benja. Temple after selling and conveying several parcels of land devised him as aforesd., having bargained and sold to the sd. Robt. Hill all the residue of sd. land containing 376 a. including the sd. 56 a. as conveyed in the sd. Minor's deed, hath by a deed, June 29, 1766, conveyed all right, title, interest, etc., to the sd. Hill, in fee. etc. Witnesses, J. Lewis, Jno. Todd, Jno Z. Lewis, 0. Towles, Geo. Stubblefield. No date of Record.
