      THIS INDENTURE made this twenty eighth day of March in year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty Between GABRIEL LONG and ANN his Wife of County of Culpeper and State of Virginia of one part and RICHARD MAJOR of County of CAROLINE and State of Virginia of other part Witnesseth that GABRIEL LONG and ANN his Wife for three thousand pounds current money to them in hand paid by these presents do bargain and sell unto RICHARD MAJOR his heirs and assigns one certain tract of land lying in County of Culpeper in ROBINSON Fork on the branches of DARK RUN containing Two hundred and thirty five acres be the same more or less being a tract purchased by GABRIEL LONG of MATTHIAS BROYLES and EYE his Wife as by Deed bearing date the fifteenth day of February 1779 and recorded in Court of Culpeper will fully appear bekgining at three Pines, Corner to HUNTER, WILHOIT and MICHAEL BROILE and thence North nearly thirty East One hundred and eighty eight poles to two red Oaks Corner to said WILHOIT and JOHN WAYLAND and North forty WestTwenty poles to two white saplins and North fifty East one hundred and fourteen poles to three white and one red Oak, corner to JOHN YEAGER, and South ten East one hundred and fifty five
      poles to a bunch of Maples in the Fork of a Branch and down said Branch one hundred and twenty six poles to HUNTERS line, a Pine in the said Branch and West with HUNTERS line to the begining with all houses improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging To have and to hold said tract of land unto RICHARD MAJOR his heirs and assigns forever free from any Incumbrances whatever In Witness whereof GABRIEL LONG and ANN his Wife have hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and year first above written

      THIS INDENTURE made this 21st day of January in year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty eight Between JOHN THOMPSON and ELIZABETH his Wife, GABRIEL LONG and ANN his Wife of County of Culpeper, of one part and JAMES SLAUGHTER (Son of ROBERT) of the County aforesaid of other part; Witnesseth that JOHN THOMPSON and ELIZABETH his Wife, GABRIEL LONG and ANN his Wife for the sum of Five hundred pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand, by these presents do bargain and sell unto JAMES SLAUGHTER his heirs that tract of land lying in County aforesaid and bounded; Begining at three branched Chesnut Oak and a young Chesnut Oak in MAURY's line, thence runing with his line South fifty degrees West two hundred and sixty seven poles to two Chesnut Oak Sprouts and two red Oak Sprouts corner to said MAURY. thence North sixty five and a half degrees West seventy seven poles to a Chesnut tree, thence North forty five degrees West seventy three poles to a white Oak, red Oak and Hickory, thence North fifteen degrees West one hundred and twenty four poles, thence North sixty nine degrees East one hundred and forty nine poles to a Rock, thence North eighty five degrees East one hundred and six poles to two black Oaks, thence South fifty degrees East one hundred and forty seven poles to the begining; containing by estimation Three hundred and Sixty three acres and a half, Together with all houses and improvements to the same belonging and the rents issues and profits thereof; To have and to hold the tract of land with the appurtenances unto JAMES SLAUGHTER his heirs, And JOHN THOMPSON and ELIZABETH his Wife, GABRIEL LONG and ANN his Wife their heirs do hereby warrant and will forever defend said tract of land and premises unto JAMES SLAUGHTER his heirs free and clear from all Incum-brances and from the claims of all persons; In Witness whereof JOHN THOMPSON and ELIZABETH his Wife, GABRIEL LONG and ANN his Wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
