      THIS INDENTURE made the 27th day of March in year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & Ninety Between HENRY PENDLETON & ANN his Wife of County of Culpeper of one part and ROBERT POLLARD of CITY of RICHMOND of other part; Witnesseth that HENRY PENDLETON & ANN his Wife in consideration of the sum of Nine hundred pounds lawful money of Virginia to them in hand paid by ROBERT POLLARD, by these presents doth bargain sell & confirm unto ROBERT POLLARD his heirs a certain tract of land situate in County of Culpeper on the (blank) RIVER containing by estimation Three hundred & forty seven acres being that part of said PENDLE-TONs tract of land that lyeth in the LITLE FORK and whereon said PENDLETON liveth and bounded; Begining at a white Oak at the mouth of a Branch on the River, being the corner of JAMES PENDLETON, thence up the several meanders of the said Branch to a white Oak, another corner of said JAMES PENDLETON, thence due North to a large Poplar & two red Oak saplins in FREEMANs line, another corner of said JAMES PENDLETON, thence with FREEMANs line North 63 degrees West to FREEMANs corner, & continuing the same course to the River, another of JAMES PENDLETONs corners, thence down the several course of the River to the begining; Together with all houses orchards, profits & appurtenances to the same belonging; To have & to hold the lands & premises unto ROBERT POLLARD his heirs; And HENRY PENDLETON & ANN his Wife for themselves & their heirs agree that they will warrant & forever defend by these presents from the claim of any person; InWitness whereof HENRY PENDLETON & ANN his Wife path hereunto set their hands & seals the day &year first above written

      In Obedience to the within Writ to us directed we went personally to the within named ANN & examined her (the return of the execution of the privy Examination of ANN PENDLETON); Given under our hands & seals this 26th day of February 1791

      This Indenture of Bargain & Sale from HENRY PENDLETON & ANN his Wife to ROBERT POLLARD was proved by the Oaths of THOMAS C. FLETCHER, FRENCH STROTHER & JAMES B. PENDLETON, witnesses thereto, & ordered to be recorded; And on the motion of the said POLLARD, it is ordered that a Dedimus issue to take the privy Examination of said ANN which when returned into court together with a Certificate thereon endoresed is also ordered to be recorded
