THIS INDENTURE made the Eighteenth day of October in year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy eight Between JAMES KILBEY and LUCY his Wife of one part of County of Culpeper and FRANCIS MILLAR of County of FAUQUIER of other part Witnesseth that JAMES KILBEY and LUCY his Wife for sum of Twelve pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand paid by these presents do bargain and sell unto FRANCIS MILLAR his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel of land situate lying and being in County of Culpeper being part of a track of land Willed by the Last Will and Testament of JOHN KILBEY deceased (Vitt) beginning at a corner of ADAM KILBEY being three red Oaks thence bounded by the land of said ADAM KILBEY, JACOB CRIM containing Sixteen acres (more or less) together with all houses and profits whatsoever to said land belonging To have and to hold said Sixteen acres of land with the appertanances unto FRANCIS MILLAR his heirs & assigns In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have Interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year above written
in the presence of us JAMES KILBEY

Then Received of FRANCIS MILLER the sum of Twelve pounds curren money of Virginia in full for the consideration money above mentioned JAMES KILBEY
At a Court held for Culpeper County the Eighteenth day of October One thousand seven hundred and seventy nine This Indenture and Receipt was acknowledged by the parties and ordered to be recorded, previous to which the said LUCY was first privily examined according to Law
