      THIS INDENTURE made the Seventh day of February in year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty between MARK THOMAS and ANN his Wife of County of Culpeper of one part and HARRY TALIAFERRO of the County aforesaid of other part Witnesseth that MARK THOMAS and ANN his Wife for and in consideration of the full sum of One thousand and seventy nine pounds current money of Virginia to them paid by these presents doth bargain and sell unto HENRY TALIAFERRO his heirs and assigns forever one certain piece or parcel of land containing by Estimation One hundred and fifty acres more or less and is bounded Begining at a Gum Corner to the Old Patten( thence South East One hundred poles Corner down, thence North eighty degrees East One hundred and Eighty eight poles to a Chesnut and Pine thence North sixty six degrees West One hundred and twenty seven poles to a Hickory thence North sixty eight degrees West seventy poles to a white and red Oak thence South seventy seven degrees West eighty six poles to two small Maples in a Branch Corner to ZIMMER-MON the same Course continued forty poles to a Stump, thence South five degrees East fifty six poles to a white Oak corner to ZIMMERMAN, thence to the Begining Together with all houses fences and appurtenances whatsoever belonging To have and to hold unto said HARRY TALIAFERRO his heirs and assigns clear and free from all former In-cumbrances whatsoever and MARK THOMAS and ANN his Wife doth warrant and forever defend the said Land to said HARRY TALIAFERRO his heirs and assigns In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have heretunto set their hands and Seals the day and year first above written

      The Commonwealth of Virginia to FRENCH STROTHER, RICHARD WAUGH and ROBERT GREEN or any two Gent. Greeting (Commission for privy Examination of ANN, the Wife of MARK THOMAS dated at the Courthouse this 8th day of 1780 and Fourth year of the Commonwealth.) (Return of Examination dated 11th day of February 1780 and signed by FRENCH STROTHER and RICHARD WAUGH)
      At a Court held for Culpeper County the 21st day of February 1780
      This Indenture was acknowledged by the said MARK THOMAS and with the Commission thereto annexed and Certificate thereon is ordered to be recorded
