      TO ALL PEOPLE to whom this present Writing shall come I TIMOTHY SISK and ELIZABETH his Wife of County of Culpeper in Colony of Virginia sends Greeting KNOW YE that for divers good causes and considerations us thereunto moveing but more especially for the love good will & affection which we have and bear unto our Son, BARTLETT SISK, and for his further and better support and maintenance in this World for the future, we have given granted and confirmed unto BARTLETT SISK, our said Son, his heirs and assigns after our deaths the tract of land we now live on containing Two hundred and seventy five acres lying in Culpeper County and Brumfield Parish in the Great Fork of RAPPAHANNOCK RIVER & in the Fork between HAZEL RIVER & HUGHES RIVER the same being a Tract of land granted to JOHN TAQUET by the Right Honourable THOMAS LORD FAIRFAX Proprietor of the Northern Neck of Virginia by Deed from the Proprietors Office bearing date the Nineteenth day of November One thousand seven hundred and Fifty six and by JOHN TAQUET was conveyed to TIMOTHY SISK and the said land is bounded Begining at two red Oaks Corner to MARTIN HARDIN on the side of HATT MOUNTAIN and runing thence with his lines East One hundred & eighty two pole to two red Oaks & a white Oak marked thence South Twenty pole to a Hickory Corner to said HARDIN & Colo. THORNTON, thence with THORNTONs line North fifty degrees East One hundred and Forty pole to a Spanish Oak & Gum, thence North sixteen degrees East sixty poles to two white Oaks & a red Oak, thence North fifty three degrees West one hundred and ninety four poles to a Spanish Oak & Hickory near a Branch and white Oak Corner to said HARDEN in THORNTONs line, thence with said HARDENs line to the begining place with all houses fences, feedings waters and profits to the same belonging To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land with the appurtenances theretunto belonging after our Decease to said BARTLETT SISK his heirs and assigns In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands & Seals the 13th day of October One thousand seven hundred &Eighty

      This indenture made this twenty fifth day of October in the year of our lord one thousand Eight Hundred and in the twenty-fifth year of the Commonwealth between Bartlett Sisk and Mary, his wife, and Elizabeth Sisk, widow and relict of Timothy Sisk dec’d. of the County of Culpeper and State of Virginia of the one part and Thomas Broadus of the County and state aforesaid of the other part.Witnesseth that the said Bartlett Sisk and Mary his wife and Elizabeth Sisk widow and relict of Timothy Sisk deceased for an in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and thirty pounds to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have bargained and sold and by these presents dobargain and sell unto the said Thomas Broadus his heirs and assigns all that tract of land whereon the said Bartlett Sisk now lives. Situated in the County of Culpeper and State of Virginia and bounded as by a former survey made for John Tacquet as follows (viz)Beginning at two red oaks corner to a tract of land surveyed for Martin Harden on the side of the Hot mountain.Thence the said Harden’s line east one hundred and eighty two poles, thirty four poles to a branch and one hundred and one hundred and forty eight poles to two white oaks and a white oak marked HMH thence south twenty poles to a Hickory corner to the said Hardin and Col. Francis Thornton, deceased then leaving the said Hardens lines and running with the said Thornton’s lines N 50 degrees east one hundred and forty poles thirty two poles to a branch Eight poles to another branch and one hundred poles to a Spanish Oak and Gum.Then North 16 degrees east sixty poles to two red oaks and one white oak sapling, thence North 53 degrees West One hundred and ninety four poles one hundred and seventy poles to a branch and twentyfour poles so a Spanish Oak and Hickory near a branch thence crossing said branch South 113 West twenty six poles 2 poles to the said branch and twenty four poles to a small red oak and one white oak corner to the said Harden in the said Thornton line thence leaving the said Thornton’s line and running with the said Hardin’s line South 30 degrees west two hundred and sixty two poles to the Beginning. Containing 275 acres (be the same more or less) with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold the said two hundred and seventy five acres of land with the tenements hereditaments(?) and all and singular the premises herein before mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with every of their rights, members and appurtenances unto the said Thomas Broadus his heris and assigns to and for the only use and behoof of him the said Thomas Broadus his heirs and assigns forever.The aforesaid Elizabeth Sisk doth hereby convey all her right title and interest in the aforesaid tract of land unto the said Thomas Broadus his heirs and assigns forever.And the said Bartlett Sisk and Mary his wife for themselves and their lives the said tract of land with all and singular the premises and Appurtenances before mentioned unto the said Thomas Broadus his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of them the said Bartlett Sisk and Mary his wife or either of them their or either of their heirs and of all and every person or persons whatsoever shall will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness whereof the said Bartlett Sisk and Mary his wife and the aforesaid Elizabeth Sisk have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Signed by Bartlett Sisk, Mary Sisk and by her mark, Elizabeth Sisk.
