      THIS INDENTURE made the 20th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one Between JOHN CARPENTER & EVE his Wife of County of Culpeper of one part and SAMUEL CARPENTER of the County aforesaid of other part; Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of Five shillings to them in hand paid but more especially for the natural love & affection they bear unto their Son, SAMUEL, they the said JOHN & EVE, by these presents doth bargain & sell unto SAMUEL CARPENTER, their Son, all that tract of land lying in County of CUIpeper and bounded; Begining at two red Oaks, thence West 137 pole to a Chesnut & Chesnut Oak on the top of LIME MOUNTAIN, South six West 247 pole to a red & white Oak near a Branch of the ROBINSON RIVER, East 188 pole to a Hickory and red Oak saplin near the GERMAN GLEBE, North 36 East 138 pole to three white Oaks, corner to MICHAEL CARPENTER, thence with his line North 41 West 92 pole to three black Oaks, North 71 West 126 pole to three white Oaks, North 37 West 22 pole to the begining; containing One hundred and sixty five acres be the same more or less; Together with all houses orchards and all the premises with its appurtenances unto SAMUEL CARPENTER his heirs; To have & to hold the land & premises with its appurtenances against every person; In Witness whereof the said JOHN & EVE have hereunto set their hands & seals the day & year above written Sign'd ward & delivered in presence of us
