      188-89. 22 Aug. 1766. Benjamin Strother with the consent of the County Court of Culpeper doth bind himself apprentice to Daniel Brown, joiner, to learn the art, trade and mustry of a joiner and carpenter which Brown now follows, until he shall come to the age of twenty one years, he being fifteen years of age in October next. The apprentice shall serve his master faithfully, neither buy nor sell without his master's leave, taverns he shall not frequent, cards, dice or other unlawful games shall not play, nor contract matrimony. Daniel Brown his apprentice in the art, trade and mistery aforesaid shall teach in the best manner he can; he shall also provide the apprentice sufficient meat, drink, clothes, washing and lodging, shall teach his apprentice to read, write and cypher, and shall pay his apprentice at the expiration of the term
