MARY THOMAS for their share of the said MARY's Estate. The Defendants pleaded that they were under arrest to the Generall Court at the suit of Mr. JOSIAS PITTS, Administrator of WILLIAM THOMAS, deceased, for the whole Estate of the said THOMAS, the said PITTS haveing in this Court entered his exception; it is ordered that the next Court the difference between WHITE, COTMAN and the two SANDERS have a full hearing

      Wm. Thomas his sale of land to Hulet and Woodes
      I William Thomas do acknowledge to have sold unto John Hulet and Charles Woodes a parcel or tract of land containing two hundred acres in and for the consideration of one thousand pounds of tobacco and cask which land the said Hulet and Woodes is to make there of out of four hundred acres provided that they begin at one side either above or below which land lyeth on the Southside of Great Wicocomocoe River opposite to the point commonly caIled,"SaffaIls Point" and do bind myself to secure and defend the said land unto the said Hulet and Woodes from any person that shall lay any title or claim there unto and likewise to acknowledge this deed in court witness my hand December 10th 1652. [-----] Thomas and me Thomas Kedby the mark of Anthony Linton likewise I the said Wm. Thomas do by these presents bind me my heirs, extrs, admtrs and assignees to confirm and make good the said land within specified onto the said Hulet and Woodes their heirs, extrs, admtrs or assignees forever as witness my hand this 10th day of December 1652.

      Thomas Gaskins his depo.
      The deposition of Thomas Gaskins aged 52 years or there abouts sworn and examined and saith that John Hulet and Wm. Thomas being at Thomas Gaskins his house and fell out at words and the said William Thomas called John Hulet rogue and common rogue and said that he would prove him a rogue and if he did he would have him marked for a rogue and in that should before he came from court and that he fled out of Virginia about the death of his wife or else he might have been hanged and that he was accounted a Town Bull and further saith not.

      To all &c, Whereas &c., Nowe Knowe yea that I the said FRANCIS MORYSON Esqr. doe with the consent of the Councell of State accordingly give & grant unto WILLIAM THOMAS ( )ght hundred seaventy five acres of land being in the County of Northumberland; ( ) JOHN SHEPPARD deced., & extending ( ) Northwest 500 poles thence by marked ( ) 80 poles on the woods, thence S: E: 500 poles in the woods & on the Land of THOMAS MARTINE, thence N: W: & N: on the land of JOHN EARLE & RICHARD ( ), finally N: E: Easterly to the first stacon; the sd. Land beinge due unto the sd.       KNOWE ALL MEN by these pr:sents that I ANDREW PETTICRUE for divers good & valuable consideracons have sold unto WM: THOMAS & his heires & assignes for ever One hundred & Fifty acres of Land being in the County of Northumberland & on the North side of GREATE WICOCOMOCO RIVER, bounding Easterly upon HENRY WICKERs Old Corne FeiId Fence & from thence running Northerly into the woods, & Westwardly unto the land of SAMUELL MAHAM & South unto WICKERS BRANCH & North unto the place where it first began, including all the land which belongeth unto me the sd: PETTTICRUE (more of lesse) lying betweene the sd: WICKER & the land formerly sold unto the sd: MAHAM; which sd: land with all priviledges I doe for my wife & my heires warrant unto the sd: WM: THOMAS & his heires for ever against any p:sons that shall make any clsime & doe further oblige my selfe to acknowledge this in Court the next Court day in ye County beforesd: In Witnes hereof I have hereunto sett my hand and male the 25th day of August 1662

Creek from the mouth of a cr. or br. commonly called old Mans Cr. to mouth of Kings Cr. Scc. to a cr. dividing this from land of Michaell Brooke, S.W. on land of George Colclough &c. Granted to Richd. Tompson by patents dated 4 Apr. 1649 for 560 acs. & 48 acs. dated 15 Dec. 1651 & after sd. Tompson's decease became due unto Sarah & Eliz. Tompson, his heires, & by Mr. Tho. Willoughbie & Mr. Peter Presly, who marryed sd. Sarah & Eliz., with their free consents assigned over to sd. Thomas.
