Nov 12, 1770 from Jezreel Penn of CC, to Joseph Shaw of CC, for 10 £or 1000 lbs of crop tobacco yearly by the 1st day of Aug Court, the 9 year lease to Shaw of part of a tract of land called Pensylvania, lying in CC, now in the possession of sd Penn, the bounds whereof are laid down and located by sd Penn in the presence of Benjamin King Sr, Robert B.R. I, John Gordon, mariner of Annapolis (Anne Arundel County), administrator of the goods and chattels of the late Revd John McPherson, minister in William and Mary Parish of CC, for divers good reasons, appoint my faithful friend, Joseph Shaw of CC, planter, to be my true and lawful attorney, to recover all debts, duties, fees, rents, hires, yearly payments, slaves, merchandize, goods, chattels, legacies and tobacco, due or to become due to me, whether on judgment, execution, mortgage, bond, bill, note, account, accompt book, will, specialty, contract, or otherwise, and to take into his keeping all the debts due to the late Revd John McPherson, Minister, as afd, and to defend me in any court of law or Equity, and to pay any sums of money and tobacco due by me as administrator afd, and to transact any business any way concerning me as administrator or my Commissioner, factor, or otherwise, Signed Apr 13, 1785 - John Gordon. Joseph Chunn's Final Account, May 22, 1779.
The account of Benjamin King and Anne, his wife, formerly Ann Chunn, administratrix of Joseph Chunn, late of CC deceased.
Debts include: the inventory of the deceased estate, exhibited into the Prerogative office, amounting to 214 £11 shillings 3.75 pence; money received of Hugh Hamill; a crop of tobacco left by the deceased at his death, being in Jan, 1772; tobacco received of Charles Courts. The whole amount: 288 £9 shillings 1-1/2 pence.
Disbursements went to: James and Robert Buchanan per bond dated Aug 3, 1771; John Glassford and Co, their store at Sr. Mary's; William Shaw; Edward Smoot; Lancelot Chunn as per accepted order of the deceased to James Jordan; Wilson Cage; John Evans; John Winter; Atwix Fearson; James Swann; Charles Bradley; William Jenkins; Philip Fendal; William Hanson, late sheriff for levies and officers fees; Walter Hanson, Register, for stating, passing, and recording this account. Balanceaccountable: 203 £18 shillings 3-1/2 pence.
Final Account: 288 £9 shillings 1-1/2 pence,
