Land being due unto the sd. THOMAS READE by & for the transportacon of Twenty p:sons into this Colony whose names are in the records menconed under this Patt: To have & to hold &c., Dated the last day of November 165( )

KNOW ALL MEN by these p:sents that whereas we JAMES JOANES & JNO: TAYLOR being joint purchasers of One thousand acres of Land lyeing & being bounded as appeares by Pattent bearing date the twenty second day of June one thousand six hundred sixty Power, and recorded ye 7th July 1665, have consented & agreed to divide ye said land equally betwixt them as hereafter is expressed. That ye said JAMES JOANES is to have his moyetye boundinge upon ye Land of DAVID CUFFIN and upon Mr. LEONARD HOWSON and JOHN TAYLOR to have his moyetye according as it doth appeare by Survey made by JAMES GAYLARD, Surveyor; In Witness whereof and for ye true p:formance of ye said Devision wee have interchangeably bind our selves each to other in ye penall summe of ten thousand pounds of tobaccoe & caske as Witness our hands & scales this 14th day of Novembr. 1668

Whereas it appeares to this Court by a Bill under the hand of WILLIAM COPPAGE dated the 14th of February 1681/2 that the said COPPAGE stands indebted unto Mr. THOMAS JONES ye sume of five hundred pounds of tobacco and cask, Judgment is granted the said JONES against the said COPPAGE for the said sume with costs als Execution

Whereas an Attachment was awarded WILLIAM LAMBERT against the Estate of JAMES JONES for sixteen hundred pounds of tobacco and cask, which Attachment is returned executed on one feather bed and bolster, one red rug, one blankett, two paire of canvas sheets and one little table. The Court judging the Attachment to be soe served [the said JONES being an house keeper and a Freeholder of this County and happily at this time abroad about his necessary occasion] doe order Mr. WILLIAM SHOARES being obliged with the said JONES, his Wife, for the payment of the debt in case the next Court the said JONES doe not appeare or the said goods not be secured that the Attachment may acquiese
