      Grime's Enlargement (William Grimes) 11/10/1695 - 187/186 acres. LWD/105SR7372-2. Know yee that for and in consideration that William Grimes of Ann Arundell County in our Province of Maryland hath due unto him one hundred thrty acres of land within our Province being due by virtue of a warrant of nineteen hundred acres granted unto John Norwood 6/10/1694 the same quantity being by him afsigned unto the s'd Grimes. Thirty eight acres thereof being due him by afsignment of Charles Stevens, part of a warrant of three hundred acres granted the twenty fifth day of June of the year aforesaid. Other nineteen acres being due unto him by virtue of a warrant of one thousand acres granted Daniel Elliott of Charles County by afsignment of that quantity to the s'd Grimes as appears on record. Upon such conditions and terms as are exprefsed in our Conditions of Plantation of this our Province, wee doe therefore grant unto the s'd William Grimes all that tract or parcell of land called Grime's Enlargement lying on thesouth side of the Savorn River beginning at a bounded White Oak being a bounded tree of a parcel of land called Salmon's Hill. Also Adjoins Guy's Will, Grimstin, and Grime 's Addition. Note 1: The assignment of land to Grimes is confusing as expressed in the Patent. It appears that one hundred thirty acres was assigned by Norwood, 38 acres by Stevens, and 19 acres by Elliott. Note 2: Another Patent for Grime 's Enlargement was found in LC31/265 SR7377. Note 3 (from MSA Tract Index 73): Sold by William and Ann Grimes to Amos Garratt in 1709 (PK/84).

Upon such conditions and terms as are exprefsed in our Conditions of Plantation wee doe hereby grant unto the s'd Robert Wilson all that parcell of land called Herford lying in Ann Arundell County between the heads of the Ann Arundell and South Rivers beginning at a bound Oak of the land of John Gater. Adjoins Abingdon, North Runn of South River, the land of Cornelius Howard, and Howard & Porter's Fancy. Note 1: This tract was patented in 1675. However, MSA Tract Index 73 says that it was sold to John Hudson (10/8/1672) and to Charles Stevens 1/1/1673 for 6,000 lbs tobacco. No earlier patents have been found

Upon such conditions and terms as are exprefsed in our Conditions of Plantation of this our Province, wee doe therefore hereby grant unto the s'd Charles Stevens all that tract or parcell of land called Hicory Ridge lying in the branches of the Severn River. Begins at a bound tree in the line of land owned by Capt. John Hammond. Note (from MSA Tract Index 73): Charles Stevens willed this tract to his eldest son William Stevens.

And, upon such conditions and terms as are exprefsed in our Conditions of Plantation of our late father Cecilius of noble memory, doe hereby grant unto the s'd Charles Stevens all that parcell of land called Charles' Hills lying in the s'd county on the west side of the Ann Arundell River beginning at a bound Oak standing on a point. Note: MSA index 74 indicates that in 1766, this tract was resurveyed and 200 acres "laid out" (but not patented) for Orphan's Inheritance (Elizabeth Sisson) and also that 50 acres were conveyed to William Yieldhall. Also, 50 acres were sold but never conveyed to Edward Hall. Orphan's Inheritance was eventually patented by Amos Garrett as Providence)

      The Woodyard (John Hayward) (Howard) 6/10/1671 - 150/159 acres. L14/242SR7356. Know yee that we for and in consideration that John Howard of the County of Anne Arundel in our Province of Maryland hath due unto him one hundred and fifty acres of land by afsignment from Matthew Howard part of a warrant for two hundred and thirty acres formerly granted to the s'd Matthew Howard and Cornelius Howard and the remaining fifty acres due to him bring part of his own share of the s'd warrant for two hundred thirty acres above mentioned as appears upon record. And upon such considerations and terms as are exprefsed in our Conditions of Plantation do hereby grant unto the s'd John Howard all that parcell of land lying on the south side of the Severn River near the Round Bay, called The Woodyard. Adjoins Wayfield and the sw boundary meets Wyatt's Ridge and Howard's Interest. Begins at a marked White Oak. Note: Thecertification (L6/109 SR7346) issued for this land was to John Hammond and Charles Stevens. The intended acreage certified (150 acres) and basic landmarks are the same as those in the patent. However, the courses vary slightly resulting in a twenty acre increase in size in the later description.

The remaining fifty acres being due to the s'd Howard by afsignment from George Yate, the afsignee of Thomas Taylor, attorney of Jerome White Esq., part of a warrant for nine hundred acres granted to the s'd White on the nineth day of April last past, as appears upon record. Upon such conditions and termes as are exprefsed in the Conditions of Plantation of our s'd Province of Maryland, do grant unto the s'd Cornelius Howard a parcel! of land lying in Ann Arundell County on the south side of the Ann Arundell River at Underwood's Creek.
