On 23 October 1762, Thomas NELSON and wife Magdalen bought Hudson's Exchange on Great Beaver Dam from Nathaniel WILLIAMS and Elizabeth his wife for 4,000 # tobacco. On the same day, Thomas sold Hudson's Synagogue, 30 acres, and Tabitha's Lot, 130 acres, to Nathaniel WILLIAMS. These were adjoining properties which they had inherited from the estate of Jeremiah HUDSON in 1759.(Deed Bk L-3, p 262) Thus the two sisters and their husbands exchanged properties the women had inherited.
