At the request of Joseph Allen of CC, the following deed was recorded this May 16, 1728.
May 13, 1728 from Joseph Allen Jr of CC, planter, to Joseph Allen Sr of the same parts, planter. Joseph Allen Sr, at the special request and for the just debt of the sd Joseph Allen Jr, became bound unto John Parnham of CC, merchant, in the penal sum of 28 £18 shillings, for the payment of 14 f 9 shillings, to be paid at the usual time of payments within the year abovesd, as by the sd bond may appear, in consideration of which bond and the payment thereof, sd Joseph Allen Jr has granted sd Joseph Allen Sr 2 cows, 2 yearlings, 1 calf, 45 young hogs, 1 feather bed, bolster, pillow, rug, and pair of blankets, and 1 bedstead, 2 iron pots, a fire shovel and tongs, a box iron and 2 heaters, 8 pewter plates, 2 pewter dishes, 2 pewter basins, and 1 pewter porringer, 1 pewter tankard, 1 gun, and 1 case of pistols, 2 chests, and 1 sugar box. If, however, Joseph Allen Jr shall, before Nov 10, 1728, pay Joseph Allen Sr 14 £& 9 shillings with lawful interest, then this deed to be nul}land void. At the request of Joseph Allen Jr, the following deed of gift was recorded this Nov 19, 1729.
I, Joseph Allen Sr of CC, planter, for the natural love I have for my son, Joseph Allen Jr of CC, planter, and for divers other good and valuable causes, I give my sd son Joseph Allen Jr all that tract of land whereon sd Joseph Allen Jr's dwelling house stands, being part of 2 tracts of land, the one called Brothwood and the other called Nevils Desire, lying in CC near a Swamp falling into Piles Fresh called the White Oak Swamp, bounded by the north line of my land, containing 74 acres. Pursuant to an order of last Jun CC Court, Commission issued to examine witnesses to prove and perpetuate the memory of the bounds of 2 tracts of land called Boswell and Baden, lying in CC, in possession of Mathew Compton (Cumpton). Commissioners appointed: John Winter, Geo: Hatton, Samuel Amery, and Thomas Burch (not being any way related to the Petitioner, contiguous Proprietor, nor interested in the sd land). And now here, Saml Amery and Thos: Burch, return to this Court the Commission afd, with the following certificate thereon endorsed and subsequent depositions thereto annexed: we certify that we have called before us all witnesses as have been to us nominated on the within mentioned lands and taken their examinations in writing touching the bounds of the within mentioned lands as to the Commission hereunto annexed. Aug 7, 1738. The deposition of Mathew Compton Sr, age about 67, who says that John Vaudry brought him and his father, John Compton, and Richard Hayslip, and showed them a red oak stump where this deponent now stands, and said it was the stump of one of the bound trees of a tract of land called Boden.
Aug 7, 1738. The deposition of Joseph Allen, age about 36, who says that when he was about 12 or 13 years of age, he saw an oak stump with a great stone lying upon it, which, to the best of his knowledge, he says John Compton told him it was either a bound tree or a line tree of his own land, which was very near where this deponent now stands, who formerly lived upon the land.
Aug 7, 1738. The deposition of James Compton, age about 31 or 32, who says that where he now stands, he has seen a large stump which he has heard say was the bound tree of his grandfather, John Compton's land.

The deposition of Mathew Compton, age about 67, who says that his father, John Compton, showed him a red oak at the place where this deponent now stands the stump of which tree is now standing, and showed it him to be one of the bound trees of the afd land called Boden, and likewise told him it was one of the bound trees of a parcel of land sold to John Vaudry by John Cage.

The deposition of William Ward, age about 71 or 72, who says that about 15-16 years ago, Mr. John Briscoe showed him a red oak where now this deponent stands, the stump whereof is now standing, and showed it to him to be a bound tree of John Vaudry's land, which he understood to be one of the bound trees of a parcel of land which the sd Vaudry bought of John Cage.

The deposition of Mathew Compton, age about 67, who says that where he now stands, his father, John Compton, and John Vaudry, showed him a poplar which is now standing, and told him it was the beginning tree of a tract of land called Boden, and likewise the sd John Vaudry told him it was the bound tree of his own land.

May 30, 1746 from Joseph Allen of CC, planter, to John Willson of CC, for 50 £sterl money of GB and 19,000 lbs tobacco, a tract of land, being part of 3 tracts of land, one called Brathwood, another called Indian Cabbin, and the other, Nesbitts Desire, lying in the forest near the head of Piles' Fresh in CC, bounded by John Dyson, containing and laid out for about 200 acres. Excepted are 2 graveyards which, by agreement, to be excluded, one being 16X8 feet, and the other, 12X8 feet. Signed - Joseph (0\ his mark) Allen. Wit - Allen Davies, Young Parran. The deed was acknowledged by Joseph Allen and his wife, Susanna.
