  • Notes
    • James Stoddert Jr. was also known as James Stoddert, Esq. He was born circa 1704 and died young sometime before 30 Apr 1728. He had married Sarah Parker, daughter of George Parker Jr. and Susannah Parrot. They had no children and the partial distribution of his estate went to his half brothers, Benjamin and Thomas Stoddert. After James' death, his widow Sarah married James Loch Weems. James Stoddert had died sometime before April 30 1728 as his widow Sarah had already married James Weems by then. The executor of his estate was his brother John Stoddert and administratrix, Sarah Weems as noted in 1728.

There was not a James Stoddert III. The 1736 notation you show for him is still referring to the estate of James Stoddert Jr. noted above. I hope this helps.
