I found your listing for a John Marshall living with his father in prince william co va in 1860.
I am decended from John G. Marshall born in 1839 in Prince William county Va. He was a confederate soldier in the Prince William Rifles - 17th Virginia from 1861 till surrender in 1865. He married Anna Peirson and lived in Falls Church, Fairfax Va. in 1870 then moved to Alexandria Va. by 1880.
I have John G. Marshall's confederate soilders pension claim and his death notice in the washinton post that names his son, daughter and wife.
His son was named Thomas John Marshall and his daughter, who I decend from, was named Rachel Virginia Marshall.
He died in alexandria, Va in 1911. I will ty to obtain his death certificate.
He claimed that he worked as a trackwalker for the PRR in the Alexandria Va.1900 census. Does the railroad keep employment records that far back?
