the following deed was recorded this Dec 16, 1725.
Nov 25, 1725 from Hudson Wathan, planter, of CC, & Mary, his wife, to Luke Russel of St Mary's County, planter, for 5 shillings sterling money of Great Britain and for divers other good causes, all that tract of land in CC, called Pan, taken up by Gilbert Cropper, laid out for about 50 acres, as by the patent may more fully appear. At the request of Hudson Wathen of CC, planter, the following deed was recorded this Feb 2, 1725.
Nov 25, 1725 from Luke Russell of St Mary's County, planter, & Mary, his wife, to Hudson Wathen of CC, for 5 shillings sterling money of Great Britain and for divers other good causes, 50 acres in CC, being part'of 100 acres bought by Gilbert Cropper of Thomas Gerrard Esq, & part of a tract of land called Westwood Mannor and now divided between the 2 granddaughters of the sd Gilbert Cropper, whereof the sd Luke Russell, by marrying Mary, the widow of Wm Watkins, became seized with a right of inheritance of that [land?] the sd Hudson Wathen now lives on & is now laid out for about 50 acres.
