At the request of Jno Allen, the following lease was recorded this Sep 3, 1725.
Mar 10, 1724 from Mattw Stone of CC, Gent, to John Allen of CC, planter, for the yearly rents and for divers other causes, the lease of part of a tract of land in CC whereon the same Matthew now dwells, which art is bounded by Wm Keys, the plantation of the sd Matt . This is a 10 year lease, to commence from Dec 25 of the year above mentioned. John Allen may cut down timber for building of any other improvements which sd John shall have occasion of John may not waste or embezzle any timber. The rent, after the lst 2 years, is 500 lbs of tobacco. John agrees to build 1 dwelling house 15 foot long & 15 foot wide, and 1 tobacco house 40 foot long, as is usual to build them. Also, John is to plant 80 apple trees & to keep them within close fence. Matthew is to deliver the quantity of apple trees unto John Allen, as before mentioned. To his nephew, Robt: Allen - a young mare, unbroken, After payment of the above legacies, the remaining part belongs to the widow, as per the decd's will.
