Elizabeth Pile's Will.
1, Elizabeth Pile of CC, am in perfect mind and memory.
To my daughter Elizabeth Pile - 9 Negroes: old Phill, great Henry, Dick, Hannah, Peggy, Sam, Phill boy, little Mack, & Lewis. Also, my chair & horse to her.
To my son Henry Pile - one third of the rest of my Negroes, during his natural life, and at his death to be equally divided between my 2 daughters, Elizabeth Pile & Eleanor Hamersley.
To my 2 daughters, Elizabeth Pile & Eleanor Hamersley - the rest of my estate, to be equally divided between them. To my sister Eleanor Wharton and to my niece Mary erent - the sum of 3 guineas, each.
I give 1000 lbs of crop tobacco to the poor, to be disposed of by my children to such persons as they shall judge proper objects of charity.

Charles County Land Record Book G#3, 1756-1761; Page 353. Lease. Whereas formerly, to wit, on May 16, 1755, Philip Wood of CC, tailor, mortgaged to Mr. Joseph Pile (now decd) 80 acres of land in CC, being part of a tract called Clear Doubt, for 8000 lbs of inspected crop tobacco and the condition of repaying the same by May 10, 1757, and whereas there is now due on and secured by sd mortgage, 10,560 lbs of crop tobacco, now this deed, made May 30, 1759 between sd Philip Wood of the one part, and Elizabeth Pile, widow and administratrix of sd Joseph Pile, of the other part, witnesses that sd Philip Wood, for and in consideration of the premises, has agreed to deliver, and, by virtue of this deed and the mortgage afd, he does deliver to sd Elizabeth Pile, full possession of sd land and premises, and to rent the same from her on the following terms, to wit, he paying to sd Elizabeth 924 lbs of inspected tobacco in one hhd clear of wood, by May 25, 1760, and so on, sd May 25 yearly during his natural life or until he shall pay to sd Elizabeth Pile the 10,560 lbs of inspected tobacco in crop hhds weighing not less than 900 lbs of such tobacco clear of wood each.
