Adam Thorowgood (II)(Lt. Col.) (Adam2, William1) was born after 1638. Adam died about 1685.
He married Frances Yeardley. Frances was the daughter of Argol Yeardley(Col.) and Frances Knight.
He made a will in Lower Norfolk County, Virginia, October 31, 1679. Adam's will was probated in Lower Norfolk County, Virginia, February 1, 1685. He chose Simon Overzee as his guardian in 1657. In 1642 and 1643, tracts of 400 acres and 5,350 acres, formerly patented by his father, were regranted to Adam as "son & heir of Capt. Adam Thorrowgood." He was Lt. Colonel of the Militia, Burgess for Lower Norfolk County 1664-1670, and Justice and Sheriff in 1669. He named his wife and children in his will and that his "executrix cause my body to bee interred in the Church of Linhaven in the grave of my father and that shee cause a tombstone of marble to be sent for with the Coate Armes of Sir George Yeardley and myselfe and the same inscription as upon the broaken tomb, and the same to be layd over my grave and the other over the grave of my mother."
