      Samuel Briscoe's Will.
      I, Samuel Briscoe of CC, though weak in body, am of sound and perfect understanding and memory.
      To my son William Dent Briscoe - all the lands I shall die possessed of, viz, Morriss' Hope, Bachelors Hope, Baltimores Gift, and Baltimore's Gift Addition,
      To my son William Dent Briscoe and to my daughters, Ann Warren Briscoe, Grace Dent Briscoe, Mary Hanson Briscoe, Eleanor Buchanan Briscoe, and Judith Chase Briscoe - the whole of my personal estate, to be equally divided among them, Also, I give my son William Dent Briscoe, Negro wench Suck, as part of his portion of the personal estate. It is my desire that she always live in the house, and so long as my daughters afd, or any one of them, continue in a single state of life, that she, sd Negro Suck, do wait on them or uny one of them, as well as on their Master, Also, I give to my daughters atd, the free and undisturbed use of the dwelling house and houses adjoining, where I now live, so long as any of them remain single, my son William Dent Briscoe supporting them as long as they are single, in a decent, comfortable, and .friendly manner.

      I, Michael Jenifer Stone do make this my last will and testament;
      To wife Mary H. Stone, all my lands and tenements, good and chattels rights and credits and in general all my property real personal and mixed as my trustee … and guardian of my children.
      I hereby constitute and appoint my said wife executor and executrix of the land will and testament of my last brother Thomas Stone.

      Charles County Land Records 1792-1796; Liber N#4; Page 479. Jun 17, 1795 from Michael Jenifer Stone of CC, to John Hoskins Stone of the City of Annapolis. On about Apr 16, 1794, sd Michael sold to sd John via CC deed, one share in the Potomack Company, as incorporated by an act of Assembly of the State of Maryland passed in 1784, entitled "An Act for establishing a company for opening and extending the navigation of the river Potowmack.. Sd deed was defective because Mary Hanson Stone, wife of sd Michael, did not relinquish her right of dower. This deed, for 5 shillings, gives sd John a clear, unencumbered estate in sd share, and confirms the conveyance. Signed - M.J. Stone. Wit - Henry Barnes*, James Freeman*, John M.       Charles County, Maryland Land Records 1814-1817; Liber IB-11 {Abstract by Mike Marshall}; Page 193. At the request of Thomas A. Davis the following Deed was recorded October 20, 1815
      Indenture made October 9, 1815; between Polly H. Stone of one part and Thomas A. Davis of the other part. Witnessed that whereas Michael Jenifer Stone late of CC deceased did in his lifetime, to wit, and agree to and with John Matthews to sell and convey certain lands and sentiments. And whereas John Matthews granted to Thomas A. Davis his interest in the lands and Michael Jenifer Stone died without conveying to the said Matthew's or Davis the said lands. And whereas by an order or decree of the Hon. The high court of Chancery of the state of Maryland bearing date April 26, 1815 it is ordered and decreed that Polly H. Stone for herself and as guardian to the heirs of Michael J. Stone shall convey by good and sufficient deed or deeds to be acknowledged and recorded by as the law directs to Thomas A. Davis in fee simple with general warrantee all the lands contracted to be sold and conveyed by him or to the said John Matthews for him by the agreement and covenant aforesaid reserving to the heirs the privileges given by the act of assembly of November 1773. Now in consideration of the premises and in further consideration of $730.33 the balance of the purchase money due the said Polly H. Stone has sold unto Thomas A. Davis the following lands and sentiments, to wit, "St. Edmonds" containing 100 acres which land was sold and conveyed by Michael Jenifer Stone by deed from James Simms bearing date March 26, 1796 and beginning at the 2nd boundary of a tract called "Beech Neck" to Mr. Newman's ditch; Chandler's Invention containing 27 acres 3 rods and 17 perches and conveyed by James Simms the day and year last aforesaid to Michael Jenifer Stone beginning at "St. Edmonds" and the second boundary of "Beech Neck" to the aforesaid ditch to the main run of Port Tobacco swamp; and one other tract sold and conveyed by Edward Miles by deed bearing date November 5, 1793 to Michael Jenifer Stone beginning at the 1st course of a tract called Bermuda containing 63 acres 1 Rod and 24 perches.
