      Hi Karen and List,
I have the following info. on this family. But Karen I don't think it's going to help you much.

The Henry Burch Thorn b ca 1769 and who is being placed as the s/o Benjamin Thorn and Amelia Artis Swann, is the s/o Zachariah Thorn and wife Martha [NUK].

Maryland Records of Prince George's County, p 160

THORN, ZACHARIAH. Took the Oath of Allegiance [made his "X" mark] before the Hon. Thomas Clagett in 1778 [Ref: O-267]. Zachariah Thorn married Martha - - - by 1768 and had these children listed in the King George's Parish register: HENRY BURCH THORN [bapt. on Apr. 3, 1768], Walter Thorn [born Aug 14, 1773], and Zachariah Thorne [born
      Dec. 25, 1775. [Ref: ZC-71]

      Vol. 28, No. 3, Summer 1987, p 289
      Coroner's Inquests, Prince George's County, 1719-1883
22 April 1809. Aramintha, a negro woman, the property of Zachariah Thorn. Near the house of HENRY BURCH THORN, Jurors determined that the aforesaid Zachariah Thorne was by treatment and conduct the cause of her death. Richard H. Count, J.P., Acting Coroner, Frances Talan [Foreman] Basil Bowling, Nathl Maddox, John Higdon, William H. Piles, Thomas Nebitt, Richard Farrman [X], Francis Walker, Hillary Piles [X], John Sherwood [X], John Lanham, [X], Charles Fields [X].
Included with this inquisition are several depositions:
      1. Winfred Piles deposed that last evening she discovered the aforesaid Negro dying in Henry B. Thorn's hog bed.
      2. Mary Whitmore saith that as she passed by Henry Burch Thorn's this morning, his little girl Chloe informed her that Old Mint was dead in the hog bed, and that she [the deponent] expressed a wish to see her, which was denied by MARCIA THORN [wife of Henry B. Thorn] as one of his daughters.
      3. Henry Burch Thorn deposeth that Elie Lanham and John Thorn on Tuesday last brought the said Negro in a cart and dropped he in the main road, opposite his house, and that Elie Lanham observed to THIS DEPONENT, THAT HIS BROTHER ZACHARIAH, had better take care of her. That said woman tumbled out of the cart on her shoulders and cried bitterly that she was almost naked and in a very weak condition.
      4. MARCIA THORN saith that late last evening Zachariah Thorn informed her that Minty was dead and that he was going to bury her. That he went away and took a spade with him. That early in the night he returned and said everything was fixed.
      5. Charles Fields, saith about sunset yesterday evening he discovered Zachariah Thorn go into the woods where the Negro woman was, that he heard her scream in a plaintiff [sic] voice: that on his return he informed this deponent that he was going away and should not return in the space of a month. [MDHR: 40224 -7]

So Henry Burch Thorn is the s/o Zachariah Thorn and wife Martha. Not Benjamin and Amelia Thorn. And Henry Burch, had bros Zachariah and Walter Thorn.

I think his father Zachariah Thorn is the s/o James Thorn d ca 1767 in Page County, and wife Susannah [NUK].

The current research out on Benjamin states that the Benjamin Thorn that married Amelia Artis Swann is the s/o James Thorn d ca 1767, so that would make Benjamin a brother of Zachariah, the father of Henry Burch Thorn. I haven't researched Benjamin to know if his placement as being the son of James Thorp and wife Susannah is correct. But for now that is where I have him placed.

      Any corrections or additions welcome.
