=== Research notes from Rob
Edward died in 1802 in Washington County, KY, where he left a will that was not probated until 1815. He wrote the will in 1801 and we learn that he died in 1802 from his wife's Rev. War pension application filed many years later. His wife, Teresa Dyer, died 21 Oct 1840 in Washington County, and based on her gravestone, I placed her birth as circa 1757 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/107692059/teresa-smith). They were married circa May 1783 in Page County, which if memory serves also came from her pension application.

Edward made his will August 11, 1811 and it was probated Dec. 11, 1815 and filed in Will Book #B, page 469. In his will Edward M. names as legatees, his wife Teresa and these children: Patrick, Thomas Horatio, Michael, Daniel, George, Francis Lloyd, John and Ley (Levi J.) Smith. He made his wife his executrix and Edward Clarkson and Basil Montgomery were the subscribing witnesses.
