of tobacco, half a tract of land called, "Mary's Delight" in Charles
County near the head of Portobacco Branch adjoining a tract called,
"Boswell Desert" . begin N. side of a branch of Portobacco then NE, SE,
then SW, then SE, then SW, then SW, then to start, 74 acres including
buildings, gardens, and orchards. Recorded April 3 1756. Deed Dec 21
1766 from Matthew Bosell and William Bosell of Pr. Georges Co. Md.
planters, to John Hanson and Alexander Hanson of same planters, for the
price of 27 pounds and 20,000 pounds of tobacco, all the two tracts, one
called, "Boswels Desert" near a small branch that falls into Portobacco
Main Branch and near land of Alexander Hamilton, 100 acres, in Charles
County Md. and also one called, "Mary's Delight", near the head of
Port tobacco Branch adjoining the afsd Boswels Desert, 74 acres in Charles

Charles County Land Records 1792-1796; Liber N#4; Page 268. May 23, 1794 from the Honorable Alexander Contee Hanson, Esquire, Chancellor, acting on behalf of the State of Maryland, to Alexander Hamilton of CC. The tracts of land called Lucketts Benefits, and part of Moores Ditch, lying in CC, were sold as the property of Thomas Hussey Luckett, a State debtor, under a writ of fieri facial, and purchased by William Kilty, former agent for Maryland. Sd lands were afterwards sold by William Campbell, late agent for sd State, unto sd Alexander Hamilton for Lucketts Benefits, 50 £19 shillings and 9 pence, and for part of Moores Ditch, 292 £16 shillings and 4 pence. As per survey, Lucketts Benefits is in CC, bounded by The New Exchange, Morriss Adventure, land called Greenland, containing 33 acres 3 roods and 8 perches; part of Moores Ditch is bounded by sd Luckett and Doctor James Craik, a line of Marshalls Deed, a line of Davis' Deed, Doctor Craik, sd Luckett's part of Moores Ditch, containing 194 acres and 22 perches. Now be it known that, per an Act of the General Assembly passed at Nov Session, 1793 entitled "An Act to authorize the Chancellor to grant Deeds and Patents in certain cases", the afd Chancellor hereby grants the afd land to sd Hamilton. This Indenture made this nineteenth Day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and seventy two Between James Williams of the City of Annapolis Merchant and Elizabeth
7 sds Williams his Wife of the one Part and Alexander Contee Hanson of the same Place of the other
Part Witnesseth that the said James Williams and Elizabeth Williams his Wife for and in Consideration
of the Sum of five Shillings sterling Money to them in Hand paid by the said Alexander Contee Hanson
at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
Have granted bargained and sold and by these Presents do grant bargain & sell unto the same
Alexander Contee Hanson his Executors Administrators and Assigns all that Lott or Portion
of Land which was heretofore to Wit on or about the twelfth Day of January in the Year of our
Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty eight bargained & sold by a certain Agnes Gordon late of
Ann Arundel County to John Anderson late of the City of Annapolis deceased as appears by the
Deed thereof then bearing Date which is recorded in the Secretarys Office of the Province of
Maryland aforesaid Reference being thereto had which said Lott or Portion of Land lies in Ann Arundel
County & is Part of a Lott or Lotts of Land lying in the City of Annapolis afd called and known
by the Name of Nicholsons Lott as also of another Portion or Lott of Land adjoyning to the former
granted to a certain Robert Gordon by Virtue of an Act of Assembly bearing Date the twenty sixth
Day of October seventeen hundred and twenty three called the Sand Bank Which said Lott or Portion
of Land is also contained within the following Courses viz.t Begining at a certain Post standing in a
certain Lott lying in the City of Annapolis af.d called Nicholson's Lott and the Sand Bank (being
a Lott or Portion of Land contigious to the said Nicholsons Lott) af.d South East Seventy
one Feet to high Water Mark of the said Nicholson Cove unto a third Post and runing
from this third Post by and with high Water Mark of the af.d Cove North forty two Degrees
East eighty three feet to a fourth Post then runing from this fourth Part North forty
Degrees & half a Degree West forty Feet and from the fifth Post runing by
strait Line to the begining Post containing six thousand three hundred and fifty nine square
Feet of Land lying and being in Ann Arundel County aforesaid Which said Lott or
Portion of plantable Land was also devised by the last Will and Testament of the aforesaid John
Anderson together with all Edefices Buildings Gardens Orchards Ways Waters Water
Courses Commodities Priviledges Improvements Emoluments Advantages and
Appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or appertaining and the Reversion &
Reversions Remainder & Remainders Rents Issues & Profits thereof & every Part & Parcell
thereof To have & to hold the same Lands & Premisses with the Appurtenances unto the said
Alexander Contee Hanson his Executors Administrators and Assigns from the Day next before the
Day of the Date of these Presents for & during & untill the full End & Term of one whole Year
from thence next ensuing & fully to be compleat and ended To the Intent and Purpose that by
Force and Virtue of these Presents & of the Statute for transferring Uses into Possession the
said Alexander Contee Hanson may be in the actual Possession of the Premisses & be thereby
enabled to take & accept a Grant & Release of the Reversion & Inheritance thereof to him & his Heirs
forever In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereto interchangeably set their Hand
