I, William Hall of Northampton County, North Caroling, son and heir at law of Robert Clark Hall, late of CC, decd, have, for sundry good causes, appointed my trusty friend, Thomas Marshall Dent of CC, my true and lawful attorney, to convey to Walter Jameson of CC, all that land in CC that was leased by John Pye to afd Robert Clark Hall dec. on Jun 15, 1768, called Thomas' Lott. The same land is part of a tract of land called Cornwallises Neck, and contains about 100 acres. Signed Jan 13, 1794 - Wm Hall. Wit - Lemuel Parker, Robt C. Hall, Wm H McPherson*.

      I, Thomas Davis of CC being in a debilitated state of body though of sound disposing mind and memory
      To wife Sarah Davis, I leave her charge the care and education of my son Thomas. I give and bequeath to her the whole of my property, viz, one sorrel and one bay horse, one black mare and one yearling colt, one saddle and bridle and five hogs, all my household and kitchen furniture, and all the provisions now on hand, also nine pounds cash.

      I, James Briscoe of CC being a languid state of body tho of perfect sound mind and memory
      To wife Elizabeth Briscoe, during her natural life, the use of all my real and personal estate except as follows;
      To son Edward Briscoe, negroe Winifred and a colt wigh my bay mare Bonney is now supposed to be with foal, and lastly the revertion of my real estate.
      To three sons Richard Sothoron Briscoe, Gerard Briscoe, and Philip Truman Briscoe, the revertion of all that part of my personal estate already given to my wife.

      Charles County, Maryland Land Records 1814-1817; Liber IB-11 {Abstract by Mike Marshall}; Page 360. At the request of Sarah Marshall Briscoe the following Deed was recorded July 10, 1816
      Indenture made July 4, 1816; John Dent of the city of Augusta, Georgia, in consideration of $4000 paid by Sarah Marshall Briscoe administratrix and on behalf of the state of Dr. Edward Briscoe late of CC have sold all his right title and interest to certain tracts lying on Mattawoman run called
      1) "Clarks Purchase" granted March 1, 1664 to John Clark for 500 acres and afterwards conveyed by deed through sundry hands to the late John Dent and by him left as a testamentary process or legacy to the present possessor the aforesaid John Dent
      2) So much of "Clark's Inheritance" granted in 1665 to John Clark for 500 acres adjoining the other and also conveyed by deed to the late John Dent as may be found on the west side of the main road leading from Pomonkey warehouse to Port Tobacco also known as Charleston and also conveyed by his will to the present possessor the aforesaid John Dent
      3) So much of a tract joining the first and granted under the title of "Moore's Chance" for 140 acres and conveyed by the executors of Henry Moore in 1789 to Thomas M. Dent and by him transferred to the present holder John Dent. Containing by estimation 700 acres. Signed John Dent in the presence of and acknowledged before John J. Jenkins, Joseph N. Stonestreet
      At the foot of the aforegoing deed is thus written to wit
      Be it understood that the said John Dent being held by this deed responsible for so much of the within mentioned land as may be held by Mr. Richard Tubman of the city of Augusta and state of Georgia on the claim of long continued and unopposed occupancy and be it further understood that the within deed is pledged for the payment of a bond for $2000 with interest bearing date this July 4, 1816 given at the delivery of these presence to the said Sarah Marshall Briscoe on behalf of the estate of Dr. Edward Briscoe deceased aforesaid to the said John Dent and unless the said bond be canceled within 10 years from date hereof this deed to transfer to be null and void but on redemption of said bond to be without any further claims let or hindrance valid in its all its parts.
