      -to have all those tracts or parcels of land which testator purchased from James Beck, deceased, to be divided by a line drawn northerly from the southwest corner of a tract of land called "Piney Hedge" so as to lay off the whole in 2 equal parts --the part where Robert Hopper lives to belong to John
      2. Francis Freeland --son
      -to have the part of the land divided as mentioned above where Samuel Sheriff now lives -the 50 acres of land reserved adjoining the lands ofJohn Turner and Thomas Glessan
      to be divided equally between testator's two sons
      3. Mary Freeland -wife
      -to have the plantation whereon testator now lives except for 50 acres which is to be
      laid off with a straight line across that end of the said plantation --to have for her natural life

      Indenture made October 15, 1778; Samuel Brashear, Sr., planter in consideration of 37 pounds 10 shillings common money paid by Thomas Glissan has sold a tract called "Janes Field"t["Janefield"] containing 28 acres and beginning at a bounded black oak it being the beginning tree surveyed for John banks called "Quebeck". Signed Samuel Brashear, Sr. in the presence of and acknowledged before Christopher Lowndes, Richard Henderson and at the same time Rachel Brashear wife of Samuel Brashear relinquished her right of dower
