      In the name of God amen I Francis SLAUGHTER being very sick in body but of perfect memory thanks be to God do make and ordain this my Last Will & Testament in manner & forme following Vizt.
      Imprimis I bequeath my soul to god in assured hope of salvation through the merrits of Jesus Christ our Lord & my body to be decently buried & for what Estate that pease God to indue me with I give and bequeath in manner and forme foll.
      first I give and bequeath unto my Mother in Law Mrs Margaret Upton ten shillings to buy her a pair of gloves.
      Secondly I give unto my brother in law Col More Fantleroy my book intitled "Hookers Eclesiasticall Policy
      Thirdly I give unto Andrew Dew my overseer as much broadcloth as will make him a suite.
      Fourthly I give unto my dear wife Mrs Eliza slaughter all the rest of my esate and do likewise constitute and appoint her my true and lawfull
      executrix reserving and excepting my Rapier and belt and a young mare that runs eitherabout Lyons or lower Chipoake Creek (missing) River
      lastly I consittute and appint my very good friend and loving Br (Brmissing ) Humphrey Bookth assistant to my wife to do what shall be needful in reference to (missing) estate and for his care and pains I give unto him the said Rapier and (missing as before reserved and excepted (missing) us.

      We whose name are hereunder written being VESTRY MEN for the PARISH of SITTINGBOURNE & FARNHAM do here unanimously agree for the future maintenance of Mr. FRANCIS DOUGHTY Minister the two next Ensuing years & it is agreed upon as followeth that Mr. FRANCIS DOUGHTY shall receive yearly of each Parish abovesd Sixty pounds Sterling to be paid in Tobacco according to act of Assembly ye sd tobacco to be paid in Cask without Sallery or other charge to the sd Mr. DOUGHTY hereby revokeing & dissannualling all former orders bargains & Contracts whatsoever made by & between the said Mr. FRANCIS DOUGHTY & both or either the respective VESTRYs of the Parishes aforesaid to the true performance of which the said Mr. FRANCIS DOUGHTY & the VESTRY of both Parishes have hereunto set their hands this 3 day of November Ao. 1665:

Wm. UNDERWOOD whose widow married next Archdale COMBS. Robert SISSON'S {Lisson} sister, Mary, m (1) Nathaniel POPE, (2) Anthony BRIDGES; (3) Lewis NICHOLAS; and (4) David WYCLIFFE. Her first husband, Nathaniel POPE, was the father of her son, Nathaniel POPE alias BRIDGES, who m Jane BROWN, d/o Original & Jane BROOKS Brown, and whose property was adjacent to that of John COMBS of Richmond VA (s/o Archdale & Mrs. Elizabeth COMBS, the latter the widow of Col.       THIS INDENTURE made this 5th day of 8br in year of our Lord 1689 Between HUMPHREY BOOTH, ROBERT BROOKE and KATHERINE BROOKE of the County of Rappa: of the one partie and THO: DAVIS of said County of the other partie Witnesseth that sd HUMPHREY BOOTH, ROBERT BROOKE and KATHERINE BROOKE hath for a valuable consideration already in hand received sold unto THOMAS DAVIS and his heirs one parcell of land conteyning One hundred acres being on South side of Rappa: River being part of a greater tract of land the sd One hundred acres to be bounded Beginning at the Run comonly called by name of PRICES RUN where the Mane Road goeth over and from thence extending itself up the sd Run or Branch as far as sd HUMPHREY BOOTH goeth up that course and from thence for its breadth along the sd BOOTH line which runeth W. and by E. and from thence directly down to the said Mane Road to sd PRICES RUN where it first began, Together with all profits and appertenances whatsoever belonging and all right that sd HUMPHREY BOOTH, ROBT. SAMUEL BLOMFEILD and Mr. THOMAS PARKER sendeth Greeting: Whereas divers controverseyes and debates heretofore have been had and is now depending between HUMPHREY BOOTH of ye one part and JEREMYA WHITE of ye County of NEW KENT of ye other part concerning a peice or parcell of land situate lying and being in ye County of RAPPA: and on ye South side of ye River formerly belonging to Mr. THOMAS PRICE, for the appeasing and determining whereof, ye said parties have submitted themselves & are to become bound each of them to ye other by their severall obligacons bearing date ye third day of October 1687 in ye sum of Forty thousand pounds of good sound merchantable tobacco and caske to be paid convenient on demand with condicons on the obligacons endorsed for the performance of all & every ye award, arbitrament determinacon and Judgment of ye above said Capt. SAMUEL BLOMFEILD and Mr. THOMAS PARKER, both of ye County of RAPPAHANNOCK (Arbitratrs: indifferently elected and chosen) as well on ye part and behalfe of HUMPHREY BOOTH of ye one party as on ye part and behalfe of ye said JEREMY WHITE of ye other party to award arbitrate determine and judge of and considerating all and all manner of accons, strifes, various quarrells, controverseyes, doubts and demands whatsoever had made & moved, stired or depending between ye said HUMPHREY BOOTH of ye one part and JEREMYA WHITE of ye other part from ye beginning of ye world until ye day of ye date of these presents; So as the award of Judgment of us, SAMUEL BLOMFEILD and THOMAS PARKER, Arbitras: for and concerning ye premisses being One thousand acres of land lying and being as abovesaid. made and putt in writing indented under our hands and seales this 3d day of October 1687 as by ye said severall obligacons and their severall condicons more plainly doth appear.       - The Condicion of this obligacon is such that if ye above bounden JEREMYA WHITE do and shall for his and every of his part and behalfe in all things well and truly stand to, observe, pforme, fullfill and keep ye Arbitraments, order, rule, determinacon & (torn) of Capt. SAMLL. BLOMFEILD and Mr. THOMAS PARKER, Arbitrators indifferently chosen elected and named, as well on the part & behalfe of ye said HUMPHREY BOOTH as ye within named JEREMYA WHITE to arbitrate, award, rule, decree and judge for ye touching or concerning all accons, suits, doubts & variences concerning a peece or parcel of land containing One thousand acres situate lying and being in the Parish of Sittingbourne in ye County of RAPPAHANNOCK now in ye possession and sole Custody of HUMPHREY BOOTH aforesaid now in question and controversy between ye said parties, & it is firmly concluded and agreed on by the said parties by these presents so as the award, arbitramt: or determinacon and Judgment of ye parties in and upon ye said pre- misses be made and given up in Writeing indented under their hands and seals shall for ever stand firme and Irrevokeable, in consideracon of ye full and true pformance of this condicon is this my obligation void and of none effect, otherwise in full force and vertue, against my selfe my heires Fars. or Admrs.
