JONES, RICHARD, 3 March, 1674;15 May, 1680.
To eldest son John Jones the land I now live upon being upwards of 200 acres 1 cow and heifer. To my young son Richard Jones & my daughter Jane Jones 500 acres of land to be equally divided between them this land lies betwixt Coll Goodrich & Mr Brewerton's land & bounds upon them. To Richard 1 cow and heifer. My two sons shall be at age at 18 years to receive their estates into their hands & my daughter Jane for to have her Estate when she is married And my Childrens Cattle shall Runn upon the Eldest Brothers Plantation & my Children shall have their Increase of their Cattle. Next I give & bequeath to my loving Wife Avis Jones my mare & the Increase to my Children from the Eldest to the Youngest till they have Every one one & if the Eldest Dies to Fall to the other & so From one to the Other And All the Rest of my Goods & Cattle to my Wiffe & two maide Servants those Children shall receive their Cattle in the yeare 1676 the Aprill following & for to Runne upon the Plantacon as before mentioned Next I give to a child which is my servant which is called by the name of Susana Barance one two Yeare old Heifer & her Increase & this heifer & her increase to be Delivered at 12 Yeares of Age & if any of the said Richard Jones his Children dies their Estate for to Fall From one to the other. Wife Executrix & Mr George Morris & Mr Thomas Cooper to be Overseers.

COOPER, THOMAS, 29 July, 1675; 1 September, 1675.
Sick in body but sound in mine & of perfect memory.
First my Will is that my body be decently buried by my wife in Piscataway Churchyard. To John Jones the eldest son of Richard Jones deceased all the devident of land upon which my dwelling house now standeth on soe far as the branch which leads to Thomas Harper for ever. To Richard Jones another son of Richard Jones aforesaid all that devident of land beyond the sd branch. To Dorothy Petty one red cow known by the name of Browning. To Dennis Conniers my stuffe Coat & my large drawers. All the rest of my wearing Cloaths to my servant Thomas. To John Soper my gun which is now in my dwelling house. To Jane Jones daughter of Richard Jones decd aforesd one mare foale which now runneth by the old mares side wth the sd Coalts increase for ever. All his just debts to be paid. Executrix Avis Jones widow to whom he bequeaths "all my household goods & stock of what nature or kind soever & all debts due to me & my servants she to enjoy the aforesaid devident of land during her natural life and after her decease to return as aforesd."

RIVER all my right of the One half of a Devident of land as specified in a Pattent bearing date the 20th of February in the year One thousand Six hundred Sixty & two cont. by the Pattent Six hundred acres of land bounding to the East upon JOHN WATSON & from thence runing W. upon the River & bounding there upon Mr. THOMAS LUCAS SENR. & from the River a mile backwards into the Woods the East part of which sd land with the cleared ground & all the houses & Edificies thereunto appertaining & every of the aforesd premises I do sell from me the abovesd THOMAS PAIGE & my heirs unto RICHARD JONES his heirs & assignes of the River & County aforesd to use enjoy forever without molestation & moreover that in case the cleared ground do extend it self more then one half of the land upon the river that then the sd RICHARD JONES shall allow as much for the consideracion thereof backward into the woods & furthermore THOMAS PAGE doth hereby promise to make a firme delivery unto RICHARD JONES his heirs or assignes before the first day of February next ensuing the date hereof Agreemt. WELLDING of the County of Rappa: have given granted sold & confirmed & do by these presents give bargaine sell & confirme unto the said THO: PAGE, RICHARD WEST & SAMUEL WELDING all my right & title & interest of in & to the one halfe of a Devident of land as is specified in a Pattent bearing date the 20 day of February in the year of our Lord 1662 cont. by the Pattent Six hundred acres of land bounding to ye East upon JOHN WATSON & from thence mining West upon the River 300 poles & bounding thereupon Mr. THOMAS LUCAS SENR. & from the River a Mile backwards into the woods the East part of which said Land with the Clear ground & all the houses & edifices thereunto appertaining & belonging & all & every of the aforesd premises I do sell & make over from me the sd RICHARD JONES my heirs & admrs. to the sd THO. THE CONDITION of this obligation is such yt: if the above bounden THO: PAIGE & RICHARD WEST or either of them their or either of their heirs or assignes shall well & truly pay unto the sd RICHARD JONES his heirs or assignes the just sum of Four thousand Six hund: Seventy & six pounds of good sound bright & large tobacco clear of trash ground leaves & Seconds with Sufft: Caske conveniently in Rappa: County & in the Parish of Sittenbourne at or upon the tenth day of October next ensuing the day of the date hereof that then this present oblgiation to be void & of none effect or else to stand & remaine in full power force & virtue

WILLIAM COLEBOURNE and for the said JONES and proving by a Right and Just Surveigh to be well in the bound of my aforesaid Devident Surveighed by GEORGE MORRIS the quantity being by estimation One hundred and forty acres bounding as followeth from a corner Oak in sight of the sd JONES his now Plantation by a Branch So. So. Et. to a red Oak corner by a PATH from the house leading to PISCATAWAY thence Southerly to my back line on the LIZZARD TREE PATH from the said JONES along my PATH from the said JONES along my back line to the line of Capt COLEBOURN made keeping his former course where it began To have and hold the said parcell of land to him the said RICHARD JONES forever and his heirs wth all proffitts whatsoever in as large and effectuall manner as is granted to me the said THOMAS GOODRICH by Pattent engaging myself and my heirs that the sd RICHARD JONES shall peaceably enjoy the said parcell of land without the molestation of me my heirs or any persons that may lay any claime to any portion of the said land from any obligation or any other writing from under my hand and further to acknowledge this said Deed in Court being at any time thereunto required in Testimony the same I have put my hand and seale this 2 of November 1671

RIVER upon the Branches of Piscataway POTOSON and Mr. PARRYes Swamp bounding as followeth beginning at a white Oake belonging to Lt. Collo. GOODRICH by a branch and runing thence So. to Mr. BREERESONEs line and along his line So. by East to a red Oake thence Ea. to a white Oake by the HORSE PATH thence No to a forked Spanish Oake thence S. E. thence by marked trees to a corner Hicory on a rising ground thence We. by No. to Lt. Collo. GOODRICH his line and along his line No. E. where it first began bounded on all sides wch said land is due to them for the transportation of Twenty persons into this Collony whose names are mentioned on the Records under this Pattent To have and hold the said land with their due share of all mines and minerals with all rights and priviledges whatsoever belonging to the said land to them the sd RICHD. JONES and GEORGE TURNER their heirs and assigns in as large manner as is exprest in a Charter of Orders from the late Treasurer and Company dated the 18th of November 1618, or by consequence may be collected out of the Pattent whereon they are grounded paying yearely at the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel! the Fee Rent of One shilling according to the said Charter of Orders and since confirmed by his Majesties said Instructions as also by Act of Assembly dated the 29th of March 1661 Provided that if the said JONES and GEORGE TURNER their heirs or assigns do not seate or plant the said land within three years next ensuing that then it shall be lawful! for any Adventurer or Planter to make choice and seate thereon Given under my hand and seal of the Collony the 8th day of October 1672 and in the four and Twentieth year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord KING CHARLES the Second
