1774-1780 Prince George's County, Maryland Land Records Liber CC 2 [Abstract by Mike Marshall]; Page 446. At the request of William Berry the following Deed was recorded April 8, 1778
Indenture made March 31, 1778; George Hamilton son and heir of Andrew Hamilton, deceased in consideration of 504 pounds currency paid by William Berry has sold part of a tract called "Attwoods Purchase" lying on the Eastern Branch of Potomack River containing 192 acres and bounded by the division line between George Hamilton and Andrew Hamilton; also a tract called "Hamilton" lying on the south side of the Eastern Branch of Potomack River containing 75 acres and bounded by the division line between George Hamilton and Andrew Hamilton, and a small branch that divides the lands between Tannihill and Hamilton. Signed George Hamilton in the presence of and acknowledged before Joshua Beall, Christopher Lowndes and at the same time Mary Hamilton, widow of Andrew Hamilton has relinquished her right of dower

Indenture made March 29, 1782; whereas Ninian Hamilton, Gentleman by his bond bearing date January 12, 1759 did oblige himself to convey and make over a good and sufficient deed or conveyance in fee simple unto Andrew Hamilton for two tracts called "Atwood's Purchase" and "Hamilton" containing 673 acres; and whereas George Hamilton son and heir at law of Andrew Hamilton did by his conveyance dated August 21, 1779 convey unto William Berry the two tracts. Now this indenture witness that Ninian Hamilton in consideration of 20 pounds sterling money paid by William Berry has sold and released all his right title interest and claim to the two tracts.
