At the request of John Briscoe of CC, .Gent, the following deed was recorded Dec 11, 1722.
Nov 12, 1722 from Henry Wharton of St Mary's County, Gent, to Jno Briscoe of CC, planter, for 8155 lbs of tobacco, all that tract of land, being part of a tract of land called Baltemores Gift, lying in CC on the east side Wicocomoco Wicomico] River near the mouth of Birds Cr, containing 108 acres. Likewise, a parcel of marsh between the abovesd land and the River & Creek, bounded by the mouth of Stonestreets Gut, containing about 60 acres. Henry Wharton does hereby, for himself and Jane, his wife, promise John Briscoe that sd Henry & Jane warrant the land from the claims of all . persons. Signed - Hen. Wharton. Wit - Saml Williamson, Just' Jordan. This deed was acknowledged by Henry and Jane Wharton before St. Mary's Cc JPs Saml Williamson & Justn Jordan. M. Jenifer, St Mary's Clerk, certified that Williamson & Jordan are St Mary's Co JPs.

At the request of John Parnham Jr of CC, the following deed of lease and release was recorded this may 17, 1731.
Jun 15 & 16, 1731 from Henry Wharton of St Mary's County, Gentleman, and Jane, his wife, to John Parnham Jr of CC, merchant, and Jane, his wife, for 5 shillings. A treaty of marriage being lately on foot between as John Parnham and Jane Wharton, daughter of sd Henry Wharton and Jane, his wife. Sd Henry Wharton, in consideration that sd marriage should take effect and be solemnized by articles of agreement dated Nov 8, 1728, agree with sd John Parnham that he, sd Henry Wharton, soon after the solemnization thereof would, by some deed, convey to sd John Parnham and Jane, his wife, as part of the marriage portion of sd Jane, a moiety or half part of a certain tract of land then in the actual possession of sd Henry Wharton lying near Budds Cr in CC, being part of a tract of land called Baltemores Gift, adjoining a tract of land called Sarum. The parcel of land before granted is bounded by a Great Marsh called Piles Marsh, containing and laid out for about 181.5 acres, together with all the marsh lying between sd land and Wicocomoco [Wicomico] River. Sd marriage did take place, and was soon after the expending of the articles had and solemnized. Now this deed witnesses that sd Henry Wharton and Jane, his wife, for and in consideration of sd marriage and of the natural love they have for the sd daughter, and in pursuance of the articles and for 10 shillings and for divers other good causes, they release to sd Jno Parnham and lane, his wife, all that parcel of land described above, for the use and behoof of sd John Parnham and Jane, his wife, and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten, and in default of such heirs, remainder to Francis Wharton, son of sd Henry Wharton. At the request of Mr. John Parnham Sr of CC,'the following bill of sale was recorded this Jun 17, ,1731.
Know that a treaty of marriage being lately on'_foot between John Barnham Jr of CC, merchant, and Jane_Wharton, the daughter of Henry Wharton of St Mary's County, pent, sd Henry Wharton did, by articles of agreement dated Nov 8, 1728, covenant with sd John Parnham that in case sd intended marriage should take effect, that sd Henry Wharton would convey to sd John Parnham (as part of the marriage portion which he intended to give his sd daughter), 8 Negroes, namely, Ignatius, Margaret, Monica, John, Jonathan, Little' Bess, Jesse, and Pegg. Sd marriage did take effect. Now know that sd Henry Wharton, for and in consideration of sd marriage and for the natural love he has"for his sd daughter Jane, grants sd John Parnham, the above named Negro slaves, together with their increase. Charles County Land Records, Liber M#2 Page 285. At the request of John Tayloe of Richmond County, [VA], Gent, the following acknowledgments, being endorsed on the back of a deed of lease from Wm Loney and Henry Wharton, was recorded this May 11, 1732. (Vide Lease folio 162)
St Mary's County. Mar 18, 1731. Then Jane Wharton, wife of the within named Henry Wharton, did, before me, a Justice of the Provincial Court of Maryland, relinquish her right of dower in and to the within mentioned land and premises, unto Briscoe, Gent, to whom the same is leased and conveyed. - Geo Dent. same day, the following acknowledgment of a deed of Lease from sd Wharton and Loney, was likewise recorded at request of the afd Jno Tayloe. {Vide Lease folio 1631 St. Mary's County. Mar 18, 1731. Then Jane Wharton, wife of Henry named Henry Wharton, did, before me, a Justice of the Provincial Court of Maryland, relinquish her right of rower in and to the within mentioned land and premises, unto John Taloe, Gent, to whom the same is conveyed. Depositions.
Jane Wharton, wife of Henry Wharton of St Mary's County, Gentleman, aged about 50, said that on about Nov 10, 1698, she, this deponent, was present at the house of Mrs. Jane Doyne in St Mary's County, and saw Thomas Jameson married according to the rites of the Church of Room [Rome], by the Revd William Hunter, to her, this deponent's sister, Mary Matthews, and on about Dec 25, 1699. She was present at the house of sd Thomas Jameson in CC when her sd sister Mary was delivered of her eldest son Francis (sic: Thomas-NJL) Jameson, who is now living. Her sd brother-in-law, Thomas Jameson, went one or more times during his intermarriage, with her sd sister, to England, and she has frequently heard him say that he was next heir to an estate in England, which he could not expect to enjoy, but hoped it would come to some of his children. Sd Thomas Jameson, her sd sister's husband, died on about Nov 18, 1733. For several years before his death, was in a very weak, languishing condition. Signed-Jane Wharton.
