Doyne, Jane,St. Mary's County, 17th Oct., 1738; 5th Mch., 1738.
Testatrix states that her late husband Joshua Doyne, gent., had by his will made her residuary legatee of his estate; but had made no mention of 200 A. which he had formerly designed to give to his son Dennis. She therefore bequeaths said 200 A. to Joseph and hrs., second son of Jese Doyne, dec'd., (who was heir at law to Denis Doyne, afsd.), sd. 200 A. being on Ward's Run, pt. of tract of 600 A. bou. by afsd. husband of Madam Elizabeth Calvert and her son Charles.
To son Joshua, ex., his two children, Robert and Jane, and any other children he may have by his wife Anne, granddau. Hennerita Wharton, and Mary and Jane, daus. to Ethelbert Doyne, dec'd., sons Ignatius and Edward, and dau. Jane Wharton, personalty.

Joshua Doyne was Ethelbert Doyne's father. Ethelbert's mother was Jane Matthews, the daughter of Thomas Matthews and Jane Cockshutt. (Joshua was also married to Barbara Dennis, ?daughter/sister of Edmund and Anne Dennis) These are the wills of Joshua and Jane (Matthews) Doyne.

At the request of Mr. Igna Doyne of CC, the following deed [of gift] was recorded this Oct 15, 1731.
I, Jane Doyne of St Mary's County, widow, for the motherly love I have for my son, Igna Doyne of CC and for divers other good causes, I give him all that parcel of land in CC, commonly called St Bernard, bounded by the mouth:of a little creek called St Bernards Cr, and running north by the river side [unnamed], the land of Lucas Mathews formerly Cockshuts, containing about 200 acres. Signed Sep 22, [no year stated] - Jane Doyne. Wit - Geo Dent*, Thos Thompson, Susanna Mathews. This deed was acknowledged by Mrs. Jane Doyne.
