Thomas Roy, son of John Roy and Dorothy Buckner, married Judith Beverley, one of the seven daughters of Captain Harry Beverley and Elizabeth Smith, as her second husband and had issue:
      1. John Beverley Roy married Anne Waller
      2. Elizabeth Roy married James Miller
      3. Lucy Roy married Harry Beverley
      4. Dorothy "Dolly" Roy married William Buckner, Jr.
      5. Probably John Beverley Roy married first Anne Corrie; married second Janet Dickey, widow of Robert Byrd

In the "History of the Buckner Family", page 113, is the statement that William Buckner (Jr.), son of William Buckner and Judith Hawes, married Dolly Roy, name of her parents not given, and in 1765 the year in which Judith (Beverley) Roy died, Thomas Roy made a deed of gift to Dorothy Buckner; also to Elizabeth Lightfoot Buckner, the daughter of William Buckner and Dolly Roy. (Ref. Caroline O.B. 1765-1767, Page 4, Page 297). It does not seem possible for this Dolly Roy who married William Buckner to have been a sister of Thomas Roy and daughter of John and Dorothy Roy, as John Roy died in 1734 and his three sons, Thomas, Reubin and Richard were evidently born before 1720, and from this deed of gift we conclude she was the daughter of Thomas Roy and Judith Beverley. Notes on Roy, Beverley, Smith and Allied Families by Mrs. J. E. Warren, Newport News, Virginia published in Genealogies of Virginia Families from Tyler's Quarterly Historical and Genealogical Magazine, Volume III, page 165

There is reference to Beverley Roy in Caroline O. B. year 1795, Page 158 -- "Will of Richard Roy presented and John Wiley one of the witnesses being dead and John Roy the othe witness out of the State, Beverley Roy and William Miller swear the will is the hand-writing of the dec'd". If Beverley Roy was a son of John Beverley Roy, then he and William Miller were first cousins, as William Miller was the son of Elizabeth, sister of John Beverley and wife of James Miller. Richard Roy was a brother of Thomas Roy who married Judith Beverley, the parents of John Beverley Roy and Elizabeth Miller, hence Richard was an uncle of Beverley Roy and William Miller.

      The Caroline County, Virginia Harrisons.

John's first appearance in the Caroline County order books is in connection with a transaction involving Thomas Roy, appraiser of William Harrison's estate. John Harrison's last appearance in the Caroline County records was in an account book, where he was listed with a group of men that included his brother, Andrew, and Richard and Thomas Hampton.
