Nathaniel Jones his deposition
Nathaniel Jones aged 24 years or there abouts sworn and examined saith that he heard Thomas Baker and Thomas Knight both say unto him in the time that Thomas Baker and Thomas Knight live upon the plantation with [-----] John Hillers that then this depon't heard Thomas Baker being in discourse concerning a boar of Mr. John Ham-] deceased Thomas Baker replyed saying the location my dog and I killed the boar and this depon't hath [--- ]Thomas Knight confessed the same being at that time both [-----] copartners in estates and also this depon't saith the said Baker and Knight said they did bury the same [-----] within the plantation and further this depon't saith the mark of Nathaniel Jones taken before Mr. Nathaniel Pope and Major Thomas Baldridge.

Unto my children all my land here in Virginia equally.
To each of my children foure cowes.
If any of my children dye before they come of age, then all land and cattle to the survivors, and if all dye then properly my wife's. Neither they nor their heirs shall take from my wife any of the cleared (round during her life.
1000 pounds of tobacco towards the building of a church here in this parish of Upper Muttchotick.
To the first minister that shall bee settled in this parish one cow with increase to remain in the parish for the good of the minister forever.
Unto Mary Mathe, the daughter of Robert Mathe of the said county, and God daughter to my wife, one cow calfe.
Unto Judith Estass Daughter unto Thomas Estass one cow calfe when the child comes to the age of seaven yeeres.
Unto George Haines sonn of Sisly Haines, now my servant, one cow calfe three months old, when the child comes to the age of seaven yeeres.
Unto my wife [Judith] Jones all the rest of my estate.
My [wife to raise] my children up in the feare of God and to [read] the Bible at least.

All the rest of my goods, chatells and cattell unto my fore mentioned cousins equally.

Unto Henry Paite all the cleared land and the old dwelling house for three years. Henry Paite to keep the cattell during the said yeares.

JONES bearing date 31st day August 1660 may more fully appear .. by said NATHL. JONES given and bequeathed to his daughters by his last will and testament dated the third of July 1662 to be equally divided amongst his said daughters which one of his said daughters named SARAH JONES & from the said Sarah Jones the said half part of the said land came & descended to me the said NATHANIEL GRAY Eldest son & heir to said Sarah Jones and since divided and laid out by agreement by THOMAS GREGG Surveyor of the County of Stafford and the half part allotted and laid out at the lower end of the said 460 acres my part belonging to me lying in St. Pauls Parish in county Stafford and bounded .. beginning at a marked beech standing on the East side of Machatick Crock toward the head thereof thence 120 pole along the line of another parcel of land that belongs to the said Nathl. Jones thence No. 148 po: to a markt hiccory the NW by a line to a Locust post thence West to a hiccory to Berrymans mill dam finally down the dam or creek to the first mentd station or beginning it being the half part of said 460 acres of land according to the Division on Platt drawn by Mr. Thomas Gregg Surveyor Presence Thos.
