      - IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen I THOMAS MUSE of Washington Parish in the County of Westmorland being sick of body but of perfect sence & memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life doe prepare make & declare this my Last Will & Testament in manner & forme following. Imprimis. I resigne and recommend my immortall soule into the hands of my blessed Saviour & Redeemer Christ Jesus in firm hope & beliefe through his meritorious death & passion to receive pardon & forgiveness of all my Sins & a joyful resurrection att the Last Day to eternal bliss & happiness and for my worldly Estate God in his abundance of his mercy hath been pleased to allow me, I dispose their of through his permition in manner & forme following:
      Item. It is my Will & desire that my Brother, CHRISTOPHER MUSE, have Negro Harre the which I purchased with his money & all the rest of his Estate to the which I have in my possession delivered him by my Executors when he demands it & as much meale & Corn as shall be sufficient to serve him two years & one Milk Cow the same time to give him milke;
      Item I give and bequeath to my Brother, DANLL. MUSE, one of my fine Shurts and one of my course ones his choice of all I have &. two pare of shoos and two pare of stockins.
      Item. I give & bequeath unto my Friend, BENJA: WADDEY, fifteen shillings. All the rest & residue and remaining part of my Estate, I give to my Son, THOMAS MUSE, to him his heirs & assigns for ever;
      Item It is my will and desire that my Father in Law. Mr. RICHARD SANFORD, have the care and tuition of my Son, THOMAS, untill my Son shall arive to the age of Eighteen years old: if my Father in Law shall depart this life before my Son shall attaine to the age of Eighteen then I leave him to the care and tuitiun of my brother in Law, RICHD. SANFORD JUNR.. until! he shall arive to the age of Eighteen at which age I give my Son to his own Liberty to act for himselfe, but not to receive his Estate from my Executors until! he shall arive to the age of Twenty one. I doe hereby appoint my Father in Law, Mr. RICHD. SANFORD, & my Brother, JOHN MUSE, whole and sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament & doe hereby revoke all other Wills by me att any time made and I doe declare that none other to be taken for my Last Will & Testament. In Wittness whereof, I have hereunto sett my hnd and seal this 29th day of October 1734

      BE IT KNOWN unto all men by these presents that I THOMAS MUSE of the Parish of Washington in County of Westmoreland, Planter, as well in consideracon of the love and affecon which I bear unto my two Sons, THOMAS MUSE & CHRISTOPER MUSE. and for preventing any controversie that may happen or arise after my death as also for the Rent herein after menconed, have demised & to farm lett unto THOMAS MUSE, JUNR. all that the full quantity of fifty acres of land be the same more or less now in the tenure & occupation of my Eldest Son JOHN MUSE, being that parcell of land which I purchased of my Brother, JOHN MUSE, deced„ as by Deeds of Lease & Release dated the twenty eighth day of July in the year one thousand seven hundred and eighteen on the Records of said County may appear; the land scituate in the Parish & County aforesaid and bounded; Begining at a little Hiccory by the Road side, so down a Valley to the head of a Branch to a marked black Gum, includeing all the land between that Branch & my line, Together with all houses orchards. priviledges & appurtenances belonging: To have and to hold the tract of land with appurtenances to my Son, THOMAS MUSE and his assignes dureing his natural life and after his decease unto my Son, CHRISTOPHER MUSE his heirs under the Rents limitations & provisoes as are menconed & contained in the Lease from Coll. WILLIAM FITZHUGH and unto my Brother, JOHN MUSE from whom I purchased the same; Provided nevertheless that my Son, JOHN MUSE, notwithstanding any matter or clause menconed or containined in these presents shall quietly possess & enjoy the land and premisses dureing my natural life without the hindrance of THOMAS & CHRISTOPHER MUSE: they paying therefore unto my assigns yearly at the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord Christ, the Rent of two hundred and seventy five pounds of tobacco on this Plan tacon & land above demised; In Witness whereof I the said THOMAS MUSE have hereunto sett my hand & affixed my seal the day & year first above written

It is my will and desire that my Brother, NICHOLAS MUSE, have my Plantation with the land theirs unto belonging, it being that piece or parcell of land which my Father purchased of my Uncle, JOHN MUSE, as by Deeds of Lease and Release dated the twenty eighth day of July in the year one thousand seven hundred & eighteen, the which was given me by my Father by Deed of Gift acknowledged in Westmorlend County Court the twenty sixth day of March in ye year one thousand seven hundred and twenty five for and during the space of seventeen years he paying the annual'. rent reserved in the Deed and at the end of the seventeenth year, then I give my Land with the appurtenances their unto belonging to my Cosen, THOMAS MUSE, Son of my deced. Brother, THOMAS MUSE, to hold to him and the heirs of his body forever under the several Rents limittations & provisos as are mentioned & containined in the said Deed.
      Item. I give to my Cozen, THOMAS MUSE, Son of my deced. Brother, THOMAS MUSE, and to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten all my moveable Estate be it of what nature or quallity soever, but my will is that if my Cozen, THOMAS MUSE, shall depart this life before he attains to the age of twenty one years or without heirs of his body lawfully begotten, then and in such case I give and bequeath to my Brother, NICHOLAS MUSE, his Son. NICHOLAS, my Land with the appurtenances theire unto belonging & all my moveable Estate.
      And I do hereby appoint my Loving Brother, NICHOLAS MUSE, whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament and doe hereby revoke all former & other Wills by me att any time made & doe declare this & none other to be taken for my Last Will and Testament; In Witness whereof I have hereutno sett my hand & affixed my seale this 18th day of January 1734

      This Last Will and Testament of CHRISTOPHER MUSE, deceased, was presented into Court by NICHOLAS MUSE, his Executor, who made Oath thereto and being proved by the Oath of THOMAS WODLSTON, one of the witnesses thereto, is admitted to Record; And upon the lmocon of the said Executor and his performing what is usual in such cases, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a Probate thereof in due form
