Deposition of John Sturman, aged 59 years or thereabouts, that in his minority he lived with Mr. Augustine Hull and doth remember the purchasing the land at the head of Nominy of Mr. Stephen Warman which was seated and built on, first by Hull's servants. John Wilson was at that time or some time before Hull's overseer but when Mr. Hull died Wilson lived on the land. Mrs. Hull one day after her husband's death took me to ride before her to Wilson's. being then in a violent consumption. After she came there she layd down and eased herself from coufghing. She began to talk to John Wilson of divers matters. At last she said unto him, Jno. Wilson I hear you intend to keep all my husband Hull's land to yourself. He answered, ay Mrs. Hull, who told you so. She answered it was a common discourse or that everybody said so. He answered and said, noe Mrs. Hull, I intend Nanie Hull shall have the half of it.
      John Sturman
25 Feb. 1707 [1708]. John Sturman Gent. made oath to the truth of the statement.
