      WILL OF LEWIS JONES - didn't see - find - 1721
      Book said he had widow Elizabeth - and left estate to John GRIMSLEY and Samuel Wharton -

      Did not see the Will but did see the Inventory in the Will book - said he died Instate in 1726 but it also gave the date of 1 Dec 1721 - administration was granted to widow Elizabeth Jones with Samuel Wharton and John GRIMSLEY her securities. If Jones had a will his widow would have been the executress not the administrator.. Inventory was taken 1721/22 - the widow then married Thomas Bartlett which causeed Samuel Wharton anxiety

The condition .. above named SAMUEL WHARTON at the request of ELIZABETH JONES then Wido: of LEWIS JONES Deced and now wife of the above bound THOS: BARTLETT did become bound unto his Maties. Justices of the Court for the County of King George in the sum of ffive hundred pounds Sterling that the aforesaid ELIZABETH should faithfully administer the goods, chatells .. of the said Lewis Deced which Bond beareth date 1st December 1721 .. if Said THOS: BARTLET .. do keep harmless said SAML: WHARTON .. from all manner of .. damages .. this obligation to be void or also to be in full force.

      - ELIZABETH JONES, Widdow, came into Court and made Oath that LEWIS JONES deced. departed this life without making any Will so far as she knows or beleves, And on her motion and giving security for her just and faithful administration of the said Estate, Certificate is granted her for obtaining Letters of Administration in due form
      - ELIZABETH JONES, Widdow, SAMUEL WHARTON and JOHN GRIMSLY personally acknowledged their Bond of Five hundred pounds Sterling for the said ELIZABETH's due administration of the Estate of LEWIS JONES deceased
      - WILLIAM STROTHER, THOMAS TURNER, ROWLAND THORNTON and FRANCIS WOFFENDALL or any three of them are appointed some time between this and the next Court to Inventory and appraise all and singular the Estate of LEWIS JONES deced.,which shall be presented to their view and make report thereof to the next Court. Capt. JOSEPH STROTHER or any other justice of the peace for this County is requested to administer an Oath to the Appraisors for their true appraisement of the said decedents Estate and also to ELIZABETH JONES for her true discovery thereof
