Rawleigh Chinn, of St. Mary's White Chappel Parish, Lancaster Co., VA, Gent., gave to his son, Rawleigh Chinn, of the afsd. place, mariner, the messuage, kitchen, and parcel of land lying in the afsd. place being 30 acres beg. at a marked corner in a piece of tobacco ground nigh Morrattico Creek, below Hollowing Point, and then ... said messuage, kitchen, and land is presently in the occupation of the said Rawleigh Chinn, Junr. Deed. 4 JAN 1741/2. Joseph Chinn, of St. Mary's White Chappel Parish, LC, Gent., to his brother Rawleigh Chinn, the younger, of same, Gent.; whereas John Chinn, late of the said parish, Gent., dec., brother of the said Joseph Chinn and Rawleigh Chinn, was in his lifetime and at the time of his death seized in fee of 100a of land with appurtenances, in LP, RC, and purchased by the said John Chinn of Millner alias Milender Henderson, widow, and by his nuncupative [will] devised the same to his said brother Rawleigh Chinn and his heirs, which said will not being in writing could not in strictness of law take effect so that after the decease of the said John Chinn the said 100a of land with appurtenances descended to the said Joseph Chinn as the eldest brother and heir to the said John Chinn,
and the said Joseph Chinn desires the said land should go according to the intent of the said will; in consideration thereof and for the brotherly love which he has for his said brother Rawleigh Chinn, and also for 5 shillings; acquit and discharge etc. to the said Rawleigh Chinn, all that said 100a of land.
