      ELIZABETH FOWKE, of the County of Fauquier and in Hamilton Parish (Will) Date: 20 June 1781
      Son: George Fowke - the tract of land I now live on - in case my said Son George Fowke should die without leaving lawful issue begotten of his body the said land herein devised - shall go to my Son William Fowke - but in case both my Sons George and William Fowke shall die without leaving lawful issue - the said land shall be equally divided betweeen my two Daughters Mary Fowke and Enfield Fowke.
      Daus: Mary and Enfield - shall have possession of half the dwelling house while they continue in a single state as also their part of the out houses and that each shall keep a maid to wait on them
      Son: George Fowke - what killable hogs there may be at my death I give to my Son and my daus. Mary and Enfield.
      Children: ... all the slaves I have now in possession shall be equally divided between all my Children following Viz.: William, Mary, Chandler, Enfield, George and Elizabeth Phillips and their heirs forever - household furniture to be also divided amongst the above named children.

      Pages 446-447. 17 September 1777. Agreement. Robert Dinwiddie Fowke ack. his indebtedness to Elizabeth Fowke, widow of Gerard Fowke, Esq. late of Staff. Co. .. L5000 .. 17 Sept. 1777 .. R. D. Fowke entered into the above bond with Elizabeth, Executrix of the est. of Gerard Fowke, dec'd. for the am't. rec'd. to he his share of his father's estate .. however, he has since become discontented with his bargain and in order to keep peace in the family they entered into a new agreement. The above agreement to be void, if he receives 5 slaves, 13 cows & calves, feather bed & furniture. Signed: Robert Dinwiddie Fowke.
