      KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRSENTS THAT we NICHOLAS GEORGE of Christ Church Parish in the county of Lancaster, Planter, and MARY GEORGE, Wife unto the said NICHOLOAS GEORGE are bound unto WILLIAM MITCHELL of St. Marys White Chapell in the aforesd. County in the sume of Twenty thousand pounds of good legall tobo. and caske convenient to water in the abovesd. County upon demand to be well and truely made and doen we bind our selves our heires by these presents. Sealed with our seles dated this 11th day of March 1701/2

      The Condicon of thie Obligacon is such that whereas NICHOLAS GEORGE supposing himselfe to have a right to a P;cell of land formerly belonging to his Grandfather, NICHOLAS GEORGE (deced), being in Corotoman in Lancr. County and by him, sd. NICHOLAS GEORGE as aforesd. (deced), in and by his Last Will and Testament did bequeath and give unto his Daughter, GRACE GEORGE, the now wife of THOMAS SAMPSON of the aforesaid County and before the intermarriage was relict and widow of JOHN ARNOLD (deced), who in his life time did occupy and possess and enjoy the said lands, WILLIAM MITCHELL by the free license and consent of him the said ARNOLD pt. of the aforesaid land hath ever since occupied and enjoyed the other part hime the said SAMPSON by virture of his Wife doth possess for and dureing her life, after whose dec; the said NICHOLAS GEORGE afresaid conceiveing himselfe to be heire unto the said land for the value of 2000 lbs. of Tobo. in hand paid, the rect. whereof he doth acknowledge to be fully satisfyed and hath sold unto WILLIAM MITCHELL of the aforesaid County all his right wch: he hath after her the said GRACE SAMPSON (deced) which sd. land is on the North West side of COROTOMAN RIVER joyning upon the land of JOHN EDWARDS, upon the line of marked trees before NICHOLAS HEALS last Survey, he the said NICHOLAS GEORGE doth for himselfe his heires from hence forth and forever after the death of her the said GRACE, Daughter of the said NICHOLAS GEORGE, SENR., (deced) as aforesd. quitt claims to the said land and the said MARY GEORGE, Wife unto him the said NICHOLAS GEORGE, from her Thirds of Dower doth give her full assent to the sale thereof and the same to save harmless to the only proper use of him the sd. WM. MITCHELL from him the said NICHOLAS GEORGE and MARY his wife their heires and assignes forever at all times fully perform and keep: the said MARY shall her own part as in right of dower shall acknowledge at the next court held for this county that then this obligacon to be void and of none effect or else to be and remain in full power and virtue signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us
