      By J. Michael Poston:

"John Noe Senr.(b ca. 1660-1725) patented 45 acres in Charles County, Maryland, in 1698. His son, George (and his wife Rebecca), is shown in several land transactions in St. Mary's County and elsewhere. Some of George's transactions specifically name his son, George junr.

"George,jr., is believed to be the George Noe who purchased a portion of a pew in All Faith's Parish, St. Mary's County, Maryland in 1769 (at the northern edge of St. Mary's County, near Charlotte Hall). George Jr (and Anne, his wife) is known to have purchased land and had other dealings in Culpeper County, Virginia Although Culpeper is some distance from Loudoun, this seems to be the basis for linking George and Randall. Randall is known to have been in Loudoun (several tax lists), but I am not aware of specific documentation for his birth.

"It is probable that Randall, Peter, Samuel, and Pryor and maybe others were the children of George and Anne, but evidence is slim. (The four men were listed in the inventory of James Mills of St. Mary's County, Maryland--probably as owing Mills's estate). It has been suggested that the Peter of Montgomery County, MD (Rev. War service) is the same Peter who later was in Washington County, MD, and still later in Clark County, Kentucky. (Since Fayette and Clark are adjacent, it seems a reasonalble assumption for brothers to settle near one another.)"

Thank you for posting this indenture. It is interesting that although this land is in Balto Co., other land owned by both Noe and Chesley was later owned by my ancestor James Suit but not sure why or how.
