      I, Edward Cole the Younger of St Mary's County, Gent, acknowledge myself to be indebted to my father-in-law, James Neale Sr, in the sum of 50,000 lbs of tobacco in cask, acknowledge to have received of my sd father-in-law, satisfaction for the same, and for the true performance hereof, I bind myself this [blank]. The condition of this obligation is that if sd Edward Cole the younger sues for or concerning some legacies given to my children by a deed of gift or other ways, some Negroes I have since given by my will to his my wife & to the rest of my children, that then this obligation to be n full force, otherwise to be void.
